Shaman for PvP

I've been debating on rolling a shaman or a druid for PvP in Cata. I would main spec dps (ele or enh) and heal if I get bored. However, I rarely see many shamans in PvP, and have been told that druid will outperform a shaman in most situations. So I ask you shamans, do you hold your own in PvP? What specs are better? Is druid a stronger class for me to role? Any and all input will be appreciated.

The only viable spec for a druid is feral, balance can't be played in pvp as it is too prone to interupts, and resto is just bad because any melee class can solo it.

In terms of shamans, I wouldn't bother trying to play enh in its current state. Annoying searing totem bugs and maelstrom proc issues make the spec challenging to play. Elemental is only really viable in 3's, but that viability is to an extent limited. On the other hand, resto shamans are one of, if not the best pvp healers in cataclysm at the moment.

In all honesty, pick what you enjoy most or just roll both :)

I role Rest shaman and healing is just awesome, i didn't try its dps spec's yet but i do see some in bg and they can hit hard especially elemental but for healing i would suggest you role shama.:D

Druid = Feral for PvP
Shaman = Resto for PvP

Just not enough defenses for the other specs (aswell as interrupts)

I really think you guys never really played shaman :D I dont know about ele but enh is amazing. Really good dmg, decent offheals, totems with buffs/shields/reflects, dmg reduce and dispel on 1min cooldown. And most hilarious that you think they cant kick. A enh-shaman has a 5sec kick and wait .. i am pretty sure thats the lowest cooldown possible on a kick.

I was leaning more towards rolling shaman for enhance or ele for BG AnD eventual arena. Can I get some specifics on why they "suck"? Because now I'm not so sure if I want to roll shammy

Searing Totem targeting mechanics and Maelstrom Weapon proc rate are the 2 bugs that limit enha in pvp. You can easily live with the searing totem bug, and maelstrom limits your instant casts (tricky when in need for a heal). Other than that, I find enhancement great, I can take on any class in 1v1 situations.

I read some enh shaman pvp guides (thats what i suggest for everyone) for my shaman and i rock nearly every class in 1v1. Except ferals because they always dodge lava lash. To avoid the searing totem target bug just drop the totem once more.However, the persons who claim the enh shaman is useless in PvP played that class complete wrong.

Lol, what's your expertise? Try to be behind them when u hit lava lash, and problem fixed. I'm a dwarf, so ferals are the least of my problems :D
