How do resto shammys compare to the other healing classes in both pvp and pve?
It felt weak before 4xt10, after that its pretty good (I play all healers).
25mans: Good disc/rdruid will always do more healing. Hpal is ussually behind, but thats because he heals "just" tanks and has 10000000 overhealing. And there is not enough raid damage for hpriest to shine.
10mans: best choice for one of the healers, because they can switch between single target and multitarget healing really easily (and since ele/enha does not belong to best dpsers and you still ussually want hero).
Thats my pve perspective.
PvP wise restoshaman for sure is playable as well.
Obviously it's depending on the comp you play.
By that you won't be able to say something like "restodruid is better than restoshaman".
E.g. together with mage + lock or shadowpriest + mage, a rshaman is better than any other healer, whilst together with rogue + mage a priest is better.
For BGs it doesn't really matter what class you play, though restodruid is the one with the most healing output.
At 10n/hc the best will be Restoration setup(Druid + Rhaman) couse you have good healing at "staying" bosses like Lana, and you have good healing while you move(LK)
And as "jendah" sad before shaman can be like target healer and multitarget healer.
About 25n/hc i prefer classic setup: (1-2)Rshamans + (2-1)Rdruid + Hpala + DiscPriest.
There is good target healing(hpala) good multi(shaman + druid) and there is Disc to save the hard damaged target.(But it`s only guild healing setup, couse all healer should know what they doing and switch between target and multy healing)
About you numbers at recount, good shaman all the time will be second after Disc but NEVER Hpaladis will be higher then shaman.
About shamans: you should know that shaman have not only Chain Healing, so if you be using onlu CH it will be hard to heal with you at every raid(no matter 10 or 25)
Shaman good comparing at almoust all 25m healing setups, but have problem with some healers at 10m raids.
No one rshaman be glag to heal 10m raid with DiscPriest couse there you haven`t enough healing to raid.
Best setups are Restoration(Rdruid + Rshaman) , Hpal + Rshama, a bit worse Hpriest + Rshama
That one :)
People tend to overheal like no tomorrow, resulting in more healing done (not required though) and faster oom. Of course high gear will help them pull it off, but you dont need crazy gs to run a simple ICC 10.
That being said, shaman's healing is really good, and dont forget the things you bring to the raid (totems, mana tide and bloooooooooooooodlust/heroism).
I've seen shaman being able to solo heal ICC10 unti LK (6k gs) and "low geared" shamans with fos/pos items doing more heal in LK than ICC 25 geared paladins.
It all comes down to knowing your class (as everything).
Personally, i prefer healing with a shaman than with my priest :)
Paladins have insane overhealing when doing their job right (keeping tanks alive) they have to spam holy lights and can cancel only if neither of the tanks took damage (rare) + others are keeping meeles at 100%, which causes glyph of holy light to mostly overheal, thats where that insane overhealing comes from (speaking about 25mans).
