1. Tell that to 90% of the things they teach in schools.
I'm busting my chops atm, half of these sentences could be put in such, more simple and easier to understand way. But no, I'm not allowed to change them.

Actually no. School is there to educate people, develop their vocabulary, give them knowledge. To help them develop their skills and aptitudes. Help them find a place in the world so they can contribute to the society overall. No one is forcing anyone to live in a city, in a comfortable house with running water, electricity and a warm bed. But if you want that, you should find a place to fit in aka. a job or a position.

But I digress. What I really want to say is that school is, or rather should not be there to teach people different things in a redneck form of speech or teach them that language is not important. If you are not mentally capable to understand long and complicated words perhaps you should find a different thing to aim at. The world is big enough, not everyone needs to be educated although everyone should be.
And I don't think I'm wrong when I say that what sets us apart from animals is the fact that we have a written and spoken language. So please people, cherish it.

Slightly off topic but on topic with the thread: I find it embarrassing when I see people from english speaking countries that can barely spell and type in their own language.

Obviously every type of education is useful, and I like learning new things. I didn't say it isn't. What I did was write a reply to Grace to her quote of Einstein, because they both are correct. Every thing can be put in a more simple way, but it may not be discovered yet. That's what we humans do, make things easier for us so we do it faster and better.
And if someone starts to complicate it to actually explain it, he's not doing it right.

It's true. I believe that everything can be explained in a simple way. And that is perfectly fine. But for school and education in particular, teachers should not shy away and dumb down the content. It is one of the many things that are wrong in the educational system these days.
And sadly, not just in education. Eventually all content gets dumbed down. We are all gamers here I think, and look where the industry is. I don't say it's worse. The gaming industry is stronger now than ever, but that doesn't change the fact that games are dumbed down and it's becoming the standard, the rule.

First of all, stating that an explanation with simplicity is a "redneck form of speech" I find offensive and a bit absurd. Secondly, your statement that someone should consider not furthering their education because their ability to learn does not meet what you would consider a standard is also absurd. Third, it doesn't matter how big the world is or how many people are in it, everyone needs to be educated. There are many horrible and disgusting things that happen around the world due to the lack of education.

    Placebo,
The teacher of a class, or a professor in college is there for a reason. If necessary, approach them after class and ask them a few things. As a person furthering your education, one of the first things you need to discover is what method helps you learn best. This way, you can put that knowledge to good use on any and all applicable studies. This will also help your teacher/professor help you learn as well. If you're not understanding something, it seems confusing, it's not a matter of whether or not you are good at it. It is a matter of whether or not the proper teaching method is being used. Everyone learns differently, and I believe whole-heartedly that it is unfair to say that those who do not fit into a single specific learning method are the only ones who should have an education.

Again, it's not about "dumbing down" the content. You cannot learn calculus before learning basic arithmetic. Everything should be taught simply and done so in steps, so that when the next step comes, instead of it being "complicated", it is now just the next step because everyone understands what it is and has the context for the advancement of the complexity.

Obviously every type of education is useful, and I like learning new things. I didn't say it isn't. What I did was write a reply to Grace to her quote of Einstein, because they both are correct. Indeed. Improper teaching methods and teachers who neglect their students and act as if they are only performing for the pay-check are among the many reasons why I want to be a teacher myself.

  8. My topic about not having pooped in 2 weeks got taken down for no reason D:

You would probably make a great teacher, and make a lot of kids happy. Plus they could say they have a hot teacher.

  10. I don't really agree with that Einstein quote.

Some people are truly brilliant in their field but not very good at teaching it... I'm sure everyone has had at least one professor or high school teacher that fit that description.

Knowing how to explain things (or to teach) is itself a skill. Obviously, mastery over the subject matter is a significant advantage and usually a prerequisite to teaching it, but on its own it may not necessarily be enough.

You shouldn't feel offended because it wasn't targeted at anyone. It's just the words I decided to use for the lack of something better at that moment. I can edit it out if you want.

On the second matter, I was aiming at ignorant people everywhere. I used harsh words. I can also edit those out, but I was really aiming at those ignorant. If you need more explanation ask me in PM, don't make another big comment about it. It's embarrassing for me because it feels like I have to explain myself to everyone reading, and I really don't.

And on the third matter, it was my own mistake in writing my pointless rant. I meant that no one is forcing them to study and educate themselves. Really now, you can't educate anyone by force. Are you going to chain people to their school benches and punish them if they don't read the books you give them? The world is big enough and we need field workers as much as we need doctors and lawyers. And the last time I checked, you don't need education to work the field.
