Most people misunderstand the meaning of Meta in LoL. It's not about which lane you take, but which role you take with certain champions. Annie / LeBlanc bot is not out of meta. LeBlanc support with Annie ADC is out of meta. Meaning that Annie simply can't fill the role of an ADC even if LeBlanc support can be sorta stretched.
For example, Draven is an ADC in the current meta. Meaning that his best role to fill the than of an ADC. That being said, look at the LCS. There are lane switches all the time. Solo bot, duo top, duo mid. Meta is not about the lane.
iirc, her reworked passive gives a static extra 5 gold per CS. Assuming you're not bad and can actually CS properly, that's at least an extra 500-700 gold coming out of laning phase. If you think that's an insignificant amount of gold, you have no idea what you're doing.
Further proves you have no idea what you're talking about. LB/Annie bot isn't meta -- it isn't anything. Duo mage bot isn't meta. ADC solo mid isn't meta. The closest you'll see in competitive play for going against the meta is like your occasional Lulu/LB top.
First off Ashe gains 3 gold per killing blow. 300 gold per 100 units is nothing. You will need to have at least 300+ cs every game in order to have a noticeable gain in gold. And unless you are above average, you will NOT have 150 cs by 20 mins. Even in higher ELO (diamond 4+) people rarely do 200 cs by 20 mins. And IF the game is really long and drawn out so you will eventually get to 300+ to 400 cs, you will already be full built and that gold will be close to useless.
500-700+ gold from E passive at the end of laning phase? Psh, be happy if you have a 500-700 gold bonus at the end of the match.
The meta is about maximizing the resources available on the map and utilizing certain champions to their full capacity in order to win, not about a silver scrub yelling that Quinn can't go top or LeBlanc can't go bot. kappa
AP Alistar mid is borderline OP. Can one shot someone so easily while also getting away because that's the kind of cow he is. I'm just glad that not many people know about it because most are FOTM sheep :)
Alistar was never borderline op. He was just an old champion with a rediscovered use that people didn't actually understand how to play. + After the lichbane nerfs His W + AA +runlikeafag combo isn't as strong as it used to be. Remember in early levels he is melee and has no ranged poke. He gets easily harassed.
The only reason why he had some time to shine was because it did unexpected damage and people didn't know how to play against it.
FOTM champions are there for a reason, people notice when a champion is actually stronger, though being shallow minded is not good either.
People use the word "meta" pretty flexibly in League of Legends. Most commonly it just means AP mid, bruiser top, a jungler, and AD carry + support bot. It is basically the most optimal way to spread out gold based on dragon location and different champion strengths (mages prefer the safety of shorter lanes and easy accessibility to blue buff so they go mid, bruisers go top lane because you need to be resilient to survive there, and so on).
Those who accuse you of being a "troll" for trying different stuff are just idi*ts who are so uncreative they think the game has to be played only one way. Unfortunately these are the people who make it most unviable to try non-meta configurations because they will very often begin to actually troll in response (or afk, quit, stop trying, etc). Even more sad is that Riot is now basically officially endorsing the current meta, as it adds consistency to the eSports scene to help spectator engagement.
The meta is about wining games not shuting down lanes. The thing with Jax and Garen is that Jax scales better late game, has AOE hard CC, deals both magic and physical damage, stats boost that scale with AP and AD, a passive that goes well with splitpushing as he is easily one of the best at it and one of the best duelers. His passive is also good throughout the whole game while Garen's is only half good during the laning phase.
Bottom line is that the meta only truly matters when the skill difference between opponents is very small, like the LCS or the very high ELO. Anywhere else you can play whatever you want and win. A good friend even spammed Tryndamere and got to Diamond V in about 200 games. He was forced to take support a few times too.
Okay yes thats what I said... But think what happens if Garen actually shuts down a Jax really hard... What can you do with 40 cs @ mins as a jax? Shutting down lanes is a way to win games bruh.
I say again, your line of thought is too shallow minded.
Err... The meta is there because its the most efficient way to play the game. I mean ofc there are variations and you can win if you're better than your opponent. Stop stating the obvious.
I don't know what "very high elo" is to you, but mmr is made so opponents have a very small skill difference.
Take my word i swer mate im huehue diamondSpoiler:Show
Ikr, who doesn't like to finger people eh?

Apparently I'm not having sex tonight.
I'm learning Top as Pantheon with Quinn. Also I was only Ashe cos someone locked in Garen too quick, and I said I was going mid but meh, they made me got bot with Catlin. I prefer mid as Ashe.
I don't get the point behing League tryharding. By that, I mean pretending to know more about the game and how things work than what you actually do. Especially when it becomes more painfully obvious with every post.
That was a good chuckle. Though I hope you aren't serious about the girlfriend problems.
Would require actually having a girlfriend to have problems.
