Actually, Osiris is the god of the underworld. The all-seeing eye, for which Hermes' avatar currently is, is the eye of Horus. Horus is the son of Osiris. Horus is also the friend of Thoth, whom he was assisted by in his fight against Set. Thoth is the Egyptian equivalent of Hermes, the messenger of the gods.
