getting out of wandering isle

so i'm trying to get out of the area and i'm wondering if there is some npc to talk to. i abandoned the starting quest cuz i thought i could just leave and that seems to have been a mistake. not sure if i'm over looking something or if i'll have to try to get a gm to help. any tips? also forgive me if this is the wrong spot to post this, my character is on this realm so i figured this was my best bet.
