I agree with you on a lot of those points, the movies were extremely slow and I had some things I really wanted to say to justify why I enjoy the movies but honestly I don't know why and I'm too tired to try.

I can understand why someone would enjoy the movies. There were enjoyable elements. There was just too much padding as well, for me. They could probably be cut down and combined into one good movie.

I read the books and still enjoyed the movies. Are you one of those people that thinks that if the movie varies from the book at all, it's bad?

The scenarist actually made his own sheet, a big fail. Not only he didn't follow the main story, but he also mixed "The Hobbit" with the 3 other books of LotR, which weren't even planned at the time Tolkien was writing the very first one. For a fan who has read all the books of the serie, it's a total disappointment.

On another hand, you have pro scenarists like Peter Jackson who knew almost perfectly how to deal with three whole damn long books that contained lots of useless details. He kept the essential without deviating much from the main story and we can only praise for such a hard well done work.

But c'mon, The Hobbit was an easy one seriously... is money all they cared about ?
