Considering the amount of scepticism surrounding goodie bags I've decided to make this thread.
Are they coming?
Of course they are.
What's the reason for the hold up?
People's currencies are still resetting on a daily basis, goodie bags are not likely to be released until the vast majority of resets have happened. On top of that, we are trying to determine suitable item lists that will not ruin the in-game economy or have any impact whatsoever on the game.
What is the current status?
Goodie bags are implemented, item lists are still being prepared, players shouldn't expect the world from goodie bags, due to the mass scale of them that will be given out.
Will accounts registered after December 29, 2014 be eligible for receive them?
Unfortunately not.
How many per account?
One.
What can we expect from them?
Not a lot, considering there will be over one million given out, anything of that magnitude will be affect a lot of different things, which we are doing our best to prevent, considering the wipe - everything is a fresh start.
But I want good things from goodie bags?
Goodie bags are not intended to be extremely rewarding, they are a simple "gift" (as if we haven't done this already) for players loyalty and vigilance during the whole <everyone know's the saga>.
Goodie Bags should not be relied on for some fancy items and players should not be getting their hopes up as if these will cure cancer.

also, will gifting/trade return after currencies reset? What of ppl whom accounts have yet to be recovered, as they want to hold off the decision for as long as possible? Does that mean gifting and goodies bag has a possibility of waiting till all accounts are recovered or passed their recovery date (5 months from the apocalyptic day)?

We do know that we won't get anything usefull from those bags, but what about the booster packs which were promised to be up on the marketplace for points ?
That's more usefull to the community than the goodie bags.
To many alts to lvl again and to gear out 2 booster packs were just to low...Edited: April 5, 2015

Honestly I think It should be something like: PvE gear ToC (wotlk), mounts, etc.
Nothing that would affect economy, But we got only PvP gear on booster packs, which is useless for PvE.
And I farmed almost all of my gear on my 4 bis toons by my self, and it really pisses me off that we only get some crappy furious gear on wful season, and I dont even PvP that much.
I think PvE'ers were really ignored in this matter, yes we exists.

Thanks for the update, couldn't wait to hear any info about goodie bags since I heard there will be gold, mounts and similar in them. Although, I am a little sad they probably won't be full of awesome stuff as I hoped after hearing this, but I am happy nontheless.

Sigh, you hyped these up saying "everything will be ok" with goodie bags on q&a streams after moltdown now you telling us it will be horse **** items, thanks anyway I guess.
