    Catacylsm

Hello forum, I've been on wotlk for a few years and I'm thinking about giving cataclysm a try. My guild is in shambles, and horde pvp is unplayable on Deathwing.

Any tips for a player who is new to cataclysm
    what realm?
    what faction?
    etc

    any help is appreciated

If it's PvP you're looking into then I would say go to Warsong, it's a cata version of Blackrock. If you are looking for PvE on the side for when you are bored of PvP then go Neltharion. As of factions it depends, if you are going to just farm arena and play a class that a human can be it's best to go for that for the extra trinket. If you want to go through bg's then it depends on what time you play, around my time (6pm-12pm ST) alliance dominates in bg's and horde barely win unless they make a premade, not sure for any other time slots. Also there are more active PvP guilds on Alli than horde. Really its just based on what your preferences are

I mainly play a Ret paladin, FFB mage, MM hunter, and Spriest right now. Which of those performs fairly well in both pvp and pve on cata?

Paladin is never a mistake, regardless of the expansion . I am Fire/Arcane Mage slash Shadow Priest Slash slash Sub Rogue.
And i can strongly advise to go with Mage , any combination u see Fitting , just avoid Frost for PvE [Logic] .
as for Fire[Both pvp and pve] is without doubt very very interesting , due to high Crit ratings and proc probability .
Arcane is more safer [ 2 click ] class that is easy to play and master in small period of time.
For the Realm , i speak of Neltharion . It has high activity both in PvP and PvE .
    Cheers and have fun mate
