Yes, also every update seem to break something that used to work before.
Most likely caused by spline system which in order to fix many things and have a proper implementation of NPC movement is expected to break many things which cannot be discovered during internal testing. It will be going into the test runs on Lordaeron as we level and stream our experience. Even then, whenever it hits WotLK things are expected to be fixed and also broken some, and those broken some would be worked on quickly as discovered. We'll announce more on this as we approach spline release on live, until then let's see how it is on stream.
Please see my post above, same applies.
Thank you for your response ! Does this apply to the releases on Cata and MoP too ?
The old molten servers were far more stable.
I play on frostwolf, it's constant lag, DC's, and rollbacks, it's been happening from the very beginning, so I won't blame the sargeras migration but it won't help with the problem
Isn't that what the devlog is atm?
Anyway as for development i see a lot more updates since Kaer came back.
The only thing that's missing is a new voting system and promoting the server on many more sites.
There are some positives developments I observed since the Molt-down:
- Website design, functionality, and in-game horizontal integration. Thumbs up.
- Staff approach towards the community is more fluent, permissive, and inclusive. Keep it up.
- Prospective associations initially with AT and perhaps [hopefully] other private servers in the future. Unite and conquer.
- Members know that in this server is possible to endure the worst event possible in WoW: total character annihilation.
The very unfortunate event that caught us by surprise at the turn of the year did not come without a huge cost to pay. As other members mentioned, people started looking beyond Molten-WoW/Warmane, compared their old and new experiences, and in many cases sought for other alternatives, resulting in loss of population. I do not have the insight to analyze this event in detail, but I found a post that expresses what I think about it:
Judging the last couple of weeks events and hottest forum discussions; I agree to the latest decisions made by Kaer & Staff acknowledging that it is paramount to settle the realms' set-up/configuration and devote all man power to fix their game cores as main priority. I believe this is the weakest spot of the server at the moment. Consequently, the mitigation of this issue is the most important contribution to improve our game experience and convince newcomers to stay.
However, we could not just be content with how Molten-WoW was and go beyond it, wishful thinking, it would be really great if this sever could absorb more private servers', smaller with better scripted cores, to speed up the development process; I can not help to think of a couple WotLK/CATA, which are reported online to be close-to-legendary in terms of scripting quality by DodgyKebaab. Since their populations are one-realm-based and comparably way lower than ours [less than 1k], they could be interested in merging with Molten-WoW/Warmane, in order to have access to our huge community. I presume that such endeavors are hard/tricky to accomplish, but would represent [from my naive perspective] a huge survival insurance for the whole private server movement and could place this one at the top [in every-way] second to none.
I cannot agree more Orthros. Also it proves that within last years when Kaer wasn't here, development was pretty messed up. It's almost lost years. These core bugs should have been fixed already. To be honest, if it's supposed to be scripted by devs and not from merger with other servers, I'd stop scripting end-game content for now and focus on core. It's an obligation since Warmane or Molten is supposed to "give the best experience to players". But despite all of this, I'm pretty sure that Kaer as well as others are taking this into consideration and will hopefully make the best decisions in time.
I also found in some topic someone talking about porting content from expansion to another which can be hard I think, I don't know, but If it's possible to port content from WotLk to Cata and from Wotlk-Cata to MoP, that would save a lot of quest & game content effort. It was a suggestion though.

In a way, yes.
But the devlog updates are short. I'm talking about something you would see in a newsletter that is long with a couple or few long paragraphs from the project leader every month or so.
The devlog is a fantastic addition to Warmane. But I like to hear words from Kaer himself and not a staff member making an announcement on his behalf or on behalf of the Dev team etc. It feels more authentic in my opinion.
Don't get me wrong, this has not really been the case lately. But think back to when we used to hear announcements from Herpes, whom we almost never heard a word from and instead it was usually another member of staff.

Take a look at the Devlog, it was updated before your post by the way. Or is that overkill? :)
I like it these last days, the communication and also what you wrote about WotLK in Devlog, keep it up :)
Although such posts belong more to a blog, forum blog system is a good place to have it. One of the features which still aren't released. If we had blogs enabled, I could have written it in a blog and we could have the devlog briefly mention a link to it.
One of many good ideas that can be done. You know best that communication is probably one of the most important keys to success. Else our community is quite unique, despite the fact that there's a lot of trash-talk and some hateful comments, they're all from this Warmane-Molten family and they sure want the best possible.
Sorry I didn't see that before my last post :O
That's brilliant, I love it! That's what I look forward to see more of in future on the devlog if possible :D
