I'm having trouble deciding whether to donate for some gear on my shadow priest or ele shaman. Mainly going to be doing BGs, but I also do arenas occasionally. Anyone have advice for me?

If you're going to be doing arenas, shadow priests are certainly the better option between the two.
They did get a bit nerfed since the last patch, but 3.3.5 was probably the strongest spriests have ever been in WoW :)
Tell me why spriest is better option for arenas then elemental shaman?
More utility, more sustained damage, excellent burst capabilities, more healing/absorbs, less aoe damage (shaman's chain lightning WILL break many cc's, making many compositions useless), more control.
I really can't think of a single thing elemental shaman would bring in an arena setting that a Spriest doesn't bring more of, other than aoe burst, which is not exactly something that will help in an arena setting.
That's not to say that elemental shamans are not viable in arenas, any class played well is viable. Spriests are just more viable :)
Actually i disagree with you.Talking about damage and cc im quite sure that you already know that shaman damage/burst is higher then spriest one, using chain lightning when near target is under cc is bad idea and move of bad shaman. Then again back to utilities, why do you think spriest brings more utility to team?I mean look at shaman totem bar:tremor, grounding, huge spell power totem, cleansing totem, mana totem, strength totem, armor totem, spell haste, melee haste,frost/fire /nature ressists. etc.All undispellable buffs. It speaks for itself right? What about defensive/offensive system? We have earthbind totem,we have frost shock, frost brand(undispellable slow),wind shear(by far best interrupt in game),thunderstorm, hex and ofc bloodlust/heroism...All of these abbilities can be used for offensive and defensive play. Now tell me again in which segment spriest is superior to an elemental shaman and name me comp which overall was better then any ele. comp.

I appreciate all the feedback from everyone, but I'll mainly be doing arenas only to get my relentless and wrathful gear, and then not much after that. So battlegrounds / world pvp for the most part, and the occasional arena. Not trying for 2200 rating or anything like that.
Both are awesome you cant go wrong w/e u choose...
Spriests still bring with them far more pressure, along with a ranged horror/disarm, a fear of a pretty short cd, and with more healing/absorbs. They can use dots for damage, and los to heal, while their partners get free roam. If you try to go on their partners, they will blow you up with mind blast/MF. Furthermore, spriests have an "oh ****" button in dispersion, whereas Elementals do not. Spriests also have mass dispel, and can use shadowfiend to keep players in combat (useful against rogues trying to restealth, etc.). It's just an excellent class in LK, and elementals, while also great, just cannot compare to Spriests in LK.
In terms of comps, I would love to see how long an elemental survives against a spriest/rogue. You're welcome to your opinion, maybe you even main the class. I actually only play Hunter on LK, and am basing my opinion only on my knowledge of game mechanics and experience. Elemental teams tend to be a joke for me in arenas (I play MM/Ret), whereas spriests can actually pose a challenge.
See we cant actually talk serious while you dont play any of that classes. So you actually telling me that spriests can better kite, can do better dmg while no one is on them, can better peel?Did you forgot about ghost wolf form that elementals have, earthbind, thunderstorm which are by far better kiting solutions then any spriest has!IWhen you are talking about something atleast be objective and research before you making any statement.Saying that elementals cant compare to spriest in LK is one of the worst statements i heard from someone. Now lemme explain once more.Leaving elemental shaman free casting means blowing defensive cd-s in no time, elemental prolly has best kiting tools in game, also utilities that elem. has its increasing your whole team damage/healing,windshear/grounds vs casters. For the end i was thinking on 3s arenas which is actually most important and competive part of arenas...Saying that elemental is joke in arenas is clueless.Cheers!
