Trying to recover one of my accounts from a hijacking and every time I attempt to send the damn ticket I get a message prompting me with:
"Your ticket information contains illegal characters, try again."
I've done some searching and apparently "illegal characters" includes characters that I need to use in my damn ticket. So how the hell do I send a ticket if I can't even use "@" when I need to use that character to provide the email address that I used to recover my account, and the original/registered email address for my account.
How?
And don't talk to me about putting this in the wrong section. If it's in the wrong section then fix up your "Premium Support" section. It's broken.
Do you know the "@" means "at"? As in "your inbox hosted at this server.com"?
You can also not assume Smyth lacks the common sense to take into consideration the illegal characters, so if you tell in your ticket "my email is blahblah gmail com" he will fill in the blanks.
And yes, it's in the wrong section, and being moved. Your issues with Support tickets don't translate into a free pass on the Forums, despite your frustration.
I don't think I need to prove just how essential being able to use the @ sign is when writing a ticket that involves recovering an account, considering that perhaps the most essential part of that ticket is providing the email that you registered that account with. Especially when you're having to prove an account is yours by providing more than 5+ email addresses and IP's that link the account in question, to all of those other accounts that you own.
Common sense would be to have the allowance of being able to use these characters to begin with. Fair enough to the rest.
