WotLK Which trinket should I get?

Hello all,
This is my first time playing hunter and I`m wondering what to get from the vote shop. I have my eyes set on Comet`s Trail and Needle-Encrusted Scorpion, but I`m not sure which one to get, I heard it`s bad to have two proc trinkets and you should have a cooldown trinket.

This is wrong - you aim to have 2 proc trinkets (on use trinkets have significantly lower uptime). Only case when its not great is having 2 trinkets that both give armor penetration on proc (but there is workaround -> unequip-equip one of them before fight).


Needle-Encrusted Scorpion is great for MM. Comets trail is more of a BM trinkets.

If you can farm this in toc5n you dont need to get second vote trinket and you can use those votepoints on something else.

Sorry for the late reply, but I just wanted to let you guys know that http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=45931 is better than http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=50198 because of the proc chance. Yes it looks to have better stats, but in reality: "It's important to notice that GT/MJ have a 15% proc chance on HIT, Needle-encrusted Scorpion has 10% chance on CRIT. Just noticed that because I did some testing and NES usually procs 10 seconds later than MR.". Copy pasted this from WoWhead back from the old retail days, but it works like this on Warmane as well. Mjolnir, despite being lower item level, is actually better than NES overal.

But then again, gearscore > DPS.

Would it be a good idea to equip both? Or is it better to wear one of those 2 togheter with one trinket that has a attack power/crit incr? i.e Banner of Victory / Darm Matter

You mean 2 arpen proc trinkets? It depends.. if they proc together you are wasting some of the proc.. you can desynchronize them by unequiping -> equiping 1 of them (it puts trinket on 30s cd, so they will not proc together). But the downside is that you ussually use your cds at start of the fight with hero.. and 1 of the trinkets would not be up for it.

I would go for arp proc and ap proc trinket myself (I would forget to do the trick very often).

I suggest you get Banner of Victory and don't worry for the 2nd trinket. Needle is good for its soft ARP PROC but it doesn't help you improve your DPS or anything since your gears are low and you have less AP to fully function. Consider getting AP PROC trinkets, anything is fine with low gears, and DO NOT gem ARP because you are just wasting your gold and effort. ARP is useless if you can't reach 800 which is the soft cap. You only start gemming ARP when you get 800 from gears alone. If you are far away from that, gem AGILITY all the way. And one last thing, the reason you get Banner is because it's a baby version of your BIS. Sharpened Twilight Scale. Other than that, it's bad if you go AGILITY build for low level since the ARP is close to useless, but it's still fine because it has AP proc.
