so I used to play back in 2012 on the lordaeron WOTLK server and now I'm here again since I'd like to experience MOP... but I really, really hate lvling up and I just don't really have the time to lvl a new toon all the way from 1-90, so I'm thinking of just getting an instant 90 but I'm just wondering if because since you don't get any gear or anything, does it cause more problems than it's worth?

You get some gold I believe. You could purchase vendor 430ilvl gear that would allow you to start doing at least something to get better gear.

Also, you could always join a guild designed for newbies to get a helping hand gearing up. But in general, you shouldn't have any problems.

Leveling here is a piece of cake. You can go all the way from lvl 1 to 90 in a day. I don't really see the point in spending coins for insta 90. Besides, the vendor gear is ilvl 408 which is pretty much useless. Of course you can buy some contender items with the gold the insta 90 gives you but it will be at most 3-4 pieces from the AH. As for the vendor with the green items google "wasteland" gear and you will see the vendors that sell this stuff.

I suggest using your instant 90, if you're new to the expansion you won't have a clue what you're doing.

The only instant 90 problem is that you dont get flightpaths if you do instant levelup.AND IT CAN BE A PROBLEM to get around in Pandaria without flightpaths and no money to buy flying mount so... This issue has not been fixed yet.

But surely even if you lvled for 24 hours straight there's no way you could get from 1-90 within that short space of time, I take it frostwolf has a higher XP gain rate than normal?

XP, reputation and profession rates are 7x the normal. For me it took roughly 26 hours to get 1-90. Wasn't in hurry, but not slacking either. Recently I finally got full honor gear, altogether took about 3 and half days playtime (including leveling). Could be done in less ofc if you win more BGs than I did.
The bonus when you level normally, you get quite a lot of gold - enough to buy yourself all mount training + some nice lvl 90 gear from auction to get you started. Other than that leveling is kinda painful, mostly due to 90% of low level dungeons not working, lvl 90s ganking and a lot of bugged quests in pandaria.

I also had the coins to do it, however I would suggest against it because lvling now in MOP is kinda easy.
Also while lvling you make new discoveries with the class you're playing! Trust me if I lvled straight to 90, I would have zero clue how to play a destro warlock now. They are 100x different that cata and like 1milx different from WOTLK.
But at the end of the day its entirely up to you. I am personally enjoying the MOP stuff and apart from the troll gankers and lvl 90Pk'er for "freez hnr lolz" *******s, its a lot of fun, since the mobs tend to kick your ***, you actually have to use CD's while questing!

I agree, on frostwolf instant 90 is the only way to go. Else you'll rage quit after 1 day when a group of 100 level 90's follow you around to kill you before you reach level 5.
