I have finished downloading "Wrath of the Lich King" expansion from the main page but now when I try to login, the game is telling me that the version I have is wrong:
Apparently, the realmlist for this version was also wrong, it was "set realmlist logon.warmane.ru" and I had to change it to "set realmlist logon.warmane.com", but after choosing a realm, I received the error message above. Was I supposed to get the 'Wrath of the Lich King (Old)" expansion instead?
This error is shown if you are trying to log in without having the expansion.
There is two possible faults you can have:
1. You have a version of world of warcraft with a different (older/newer) patch. This could be obtained through playing a different private server or having a different download. I just checked my "wrath of the lich king" client and in the bottom left corner it tells me the patch status of my client.
"12340"
- if you have a higher number this means your client has a different newer patch and cannot play unless downgraded or re downloaded.
- If you have a lower number you should find the appropriate patches on-line and patch up your client to the correct version. 3.3.5 (12340)
2. You have started the wrong client, you might have tried to access the realm with an either newer or older client. The burning crusade, vanilla, pandaria, cataclysm. If you select a realm that does not support your patch/client you will get an error message.
You can break down the message:
Your account has been authorized.... "wrath of the lich king" (the server plays this expansion and the account is allowed to)
But the computer you are playing does not contain "wrath of the lich king" data. (this would suggest problem two more then one)
How ever the screen shot you posted shows a wrath of the lich king background. And kind of kills the problem number two.
Please provide a screenshot of the left bottom of the client to see what game version your client has.
