A lot of ppl was hyped about WoD too, 10m on release, 6 months later - 5.6m. So hype doesnt make stuff better.

If you understood lore you'd know Warcraft universe does not end with the lich king. That part is very small compared to the actual conflict....although everything is linked together.

Because Azeroth is the only planet in the cosmos that matters at all to him. I'll explain why;
The Titans and Old Gods fought on Azeroth. An Old God (Y'shaarj) was killed by the Titans, which the Titans then saw that killing the Old Gods harmed Azeroth itself, so they stopped and decided to imprison the Old Gods. In the battle against Y'shaarj, a Titan was killed.
That Titan's blood pouring from its body became what we know in history to be the Well of Eternity. It became a great font of magical power on Azeroth, and its use by the Highborne Kal'dorei attracted the attention of Sargeras and the Legion. It was at this point that Sargeras came to the realization of how important Azeroth was to his dark crusade across the cosmos.
There is one thing Sargeras needs in order to succeed in his dark crusade against the other Titans.
HOW DOES ONE KILL A TITAN?
And now he knows that there is an answer to that question. And he knows now that Azeroth is the only place in the cosmos that holds the answer to that question.
He could just shatter the world with his great sword, but that would prevent him from learning the knowledge he seeks. It is important that the opposition to him be removed from Azeroth, but it is also very important that Azeroth itself remain intact until he gets what he has come for.
All other worlds, such as Draenor, are nothing more to him than a means to an end.

Can't agree more. Arthas' story was just a quality story and WotLK was a cool expansion, but it was definitely not the main subject of WoW lore; there are so many stories still to be told.

But people here keep hating WoW because reasons,when people cry for demon hunters and to bring back the TBC days,they spit on blizzard for making TBC 2.0,what's bad about it? after all TBC was the glory days of wow(opinions from the same people who spit on legion for being a remake of tbc btw)

Guess WHAT? blizzard gives northrend back! yet i can still see people complaining in reddit and warmane forums for "rehashing"
this expansion has even better chances of success than wotlk if blizzard gives all of the content that they promised and makes us enough stuff to do to keep atleast 9 million players in the game mid-expansion
