PvP has been tailored around 3v3 combat since Vanilla, your RP warfare is not the "origin of PvP" no matter how bad you want it to be. If you can't handle or understand that; I don't really care.
kek they tailored PvP in Vanilla? I thought it was just a 'give class A ability Y and class B ability Z and see where it goes from there' o.o
Alright fine I didn't start playing myself until TBC, I just assumed there were arenas in Vanilla aswell ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Bleh Casual;3
I started playing since Warcraft: Orcs & Humans so I have more knowledge and experience than both of you.
The only aspect of PvP that makes sense in this game is BGs.

Again, you are presenting your opinion as a fact, which in turn is a lie.
I too have played since Warcraft 1 (for the record, based on your comments, I'm certain this is a lie, but I will not make such an allegation with no proof) and I can assure you, PvP is balanced around 3v3.
In Vanilla, PvP was not balanced at all. Ranged classes and rogues had a significant advantage over ALL melee classes (mages could delete any player with a single gcd combination, wonder if you are aware what that combination was, since after all, you have played Vanilla, right?).
After TBC was introduced, balance was moved towards arenas. Nonetheless classes such as Holy Paladins were gods that would never die and could solo 2 dps players with ease.
Then came LK, and we finally got a balanced expansion for PvP (albeit, PvP was much harder in there than Cata). This is when balance moved directly towards the 3v3 format, as can be seen from how Ret Paladins dominate in 2v2, but never 3v3.
By Cata, Blizzard was committed to the 3v3 format, as can be seen from all tournaments having revolved around the 3v3 format, and never a BG format.
Please do not spread lies, and present opinions for what they are...
dude... dont em...

Again, you're taking my comments more seriously than anyone ever should, but I'll pass.
You keep referring to me as a "new" player but yet you don't even know me. The fact is, I've played this game longer than you think. I'm admitting it right now, I don't have much experience in Arena and I have no clue about most arena comps but that doesn't mean I'm new to PvP, does it? When it comes to BG I've played thousands, if not millions of Battlegrounds over my 6 years wow playtime (4 years on Molten/Warmane and 2 years on retail).
And no, I haven't played since Vanilla. I started playing retail since late WotLK/early Cataclysm so I have no clue about the earlier expansions. But when it comes to other Warcraft games I've played all of them and I still play them occasionally till this day.
I was helping a friend capping in 2v2 earlier today and I got really bored and left the team after 3 games (even though I won these games). I never found arena enjoyable and I probably never will.
If you're one of those of people who "despise" BGs and call anyone who plays them a "BG hero" that's fine, I actually am used to that. But at least learn to respect other people's opinion. And as a matter of fact, my most recent comments about damage in BGs were aimed to contradict people's comment like "stay 1.5k mate", "keep rolling em BGs" and whatnot. But of course I was doing it in a silly manner. I'm quite shocked you took it seriously.
Before Moltdown I had every working BG achievement. Just from achievements alone, since I had 100 wins for every BG, that's over 500 wins. On Frostwolf, I spend 75% of my time on my horde character trying to set up Rated BGs. Trust me, I love BGs just as much as you do. But I can tell you right now, with all my experience in them, and my love for them, PvP is not and never will be balanced around BGs.
Thing with us PvP players is, we just take everything too seriously. Guess the type of people that like PvP are really competitive and love getting under each others skin, so I'm sure you know where I was coming from :D
To be honest, if it wasn't such a dead bracket, I think you would enjoy 5's. It's basically a bg on a small scale.
That sounds like something alright
I got to experience quite a bit of 5s back pre-moltdown, my guild on Sarg, Tears Sustain Me, we'd do 5s games as guild events, random teams and random comps. Then again in WOHL before one season it got competitive between two teams. We made a troll team, to farm them, on my crappy Rdruid alt.
5s is really fun, and there are nice comps out there that include previously unviable specs like Combat Rogue, Survival Hunter, Elemental Shaman.
It does require slight more co-ordination. Since generally you have two healers, a designated CCer and two meta DPS. At elast from all the games I've played.
