Hey there,
I am playing on Deathwing at the moment and I also play some arena 2v2 there. But sometimes, you play against a team which is not joining the arena for more than half a hour. You always get the same team, again and again. This is really boring and no fun at all. People use this tactic to drop their MMR, and since a match that you don't join is not counted as a lost match, they can do that easily.
My suggestion for Lordaeron would be, to introduce a Arena deserteur, just like the Dungeon or the Battleground one. And since the Dungeon Browser is disabled on Lordaeron, your Devs might be able to give non joining Arena Teams the Dungeon Deserteur debuff and check for this every time a team tries to join a match. Or just code it smooth and introduce a new debuff :)
Whatever, I hope you get my point to do something against those MMR droppers.
I think something like this is implemented in Blackrock.
Yes, it is annoying getting those teams 3 times in a row...
I think the only think we can do is report them, which I don't know how, and even if I knew I don't think I would do it, and I think people don't do it.
And yes, it is a good idea and it would be nice if there was a way to fix it.
Dropping MMR is not something you just do for fun, I hope that's very ****ing clear. For an example, I boosted a mate of mine in 2s this season to about 2.3, but the winloss was quite trash so, when he had gotten the parts that he wanted I intended to leave the team to play with my main partner on a brand new team. In order to do this you HAVE to drop MMR, you won't be matched against ANY TEAMS but 2.2k-ish ones at this point, and to receive 8-20 rating for each win starting from 0 team rating (and your MMR increasing with each win as well) you won't go far until you hit that brick wall, that's why the macro was created in the first place; to not limit each player to ONE team per season but to be able to start over if they so felt like it without this crude punishment.
Blackrock/AT neatly fixed this issue by increasing the rating gained from each win by a significant amount, regardless how low/high rated the team is. What these means is that a team with 2k MMR will receive about 40-50 rating (and a team with 2.4k MMR might receive 70-80 for each win instead of 8-20, thus enables them to catch up with their current MMR. This also solves the issue with new players be matched against more experienced ones which has been a concern for a long time, and this new MMR system solves that as well.
I know for a fact that wheather MMR dropping is bannable or not, the community WILL NOT stop doing it (wheather it being using the macro or just entering and just plainly give up), people will risk getting banned any day to not be stuck in this prison. The idea of having one chance, ONE ****ING chance to make it perfect every single season is beyond wish thinking. Problems do arise, IRL does interfer, you might get that dream job you applied for which renders you without time to spend on the game. But when you come back you shouldn't have to be bullied by a system that will repel all potential partners cause they don't wanna risk being stuck in your seat if things wouldn't work out.
To me the solution is very, VERY simple: apply the Blackrock/AT MMR sytem and we'll be done with this for good. It's right at your feet, you just have to pick it up.

So you are saying, that you boost someone to 2.3k rating and after that you complain about fighting teams in a equal rating to that? So your only chance is to drop your MMR and annoy tons of people to fight against low rating guys which mostly have no chance against 2.3k-ish players. Sounds fair ...
When you just keep playing, the difference between your personal and team rating will decrease with each win or loose. You just have to keep playing.
And just to give an example: I haven't played PvP for a very long time and I never played in a double damage team, so we are not that good (about 1500 rating for now). Just yesterday we had some MMR droppers 3 times in a row, which is boring and time wasting .... After that we were fighting against this team, a "real fight", they just killed us in a couple of seconds. A team with this gear, knowledge and skill like them shouldn't be able to drop there MMR like that and kill all those not so experienced teams like us. That's totally inbalanced. All this rating system is intended to just prevent unequal teams to fight each other, MMR dropping is just a way to bypass this game mechanic.

No I'm not. If it wasn't clear, I was talking about after you've made a brand new team at 0 rating.

No one drops MMR in order to snipe other teams, but to be able to start fresh. And no you can't just keep playing at 2.2k MMR when you got a team at 0 rating. You will wait for about 15-30 minutes in queue to receive 8-20 points.
