1. Healers in WotLK

Well, as the post name suggests, i would like to know the comunity opinion about how things will be for healers and what classes will we see more frequently healing. Im quite undecided between priest and shaman heal for PVE and maybe PVP, so this thread coula also help me a little choosing.

    23 days for live!

  2. Tier of healers in PvP:

    1. Holy Paladin,
    2. Restoration Shaman,
    3. Restoration Druid,
    4. Discipline Priest.

All of them are generally good if you know how to play them and more skilled player should win most of the time but Holy Paladin and Restoration Shaman need the least skill to be effective in PvP.

  3. Priests have Mana Burn and Mind Control. Priests don't have Stances, pets, totems or forms. Priests have Shield to prevent damage. You can use Mind Sear to DPS a whole group. You have Mass Dispel. You can use Mind Blast so they lock your Shadow Tree, you will be able to use Holy spells. You have a life saver ability for yourself. And a life saver ability for the whole raid. You can buff yourself and others. Penance to heal. Renew as a HoT. Pain as a DoT. Death as instant DPS. Holy Nova as AoE. Fear as CC. Dispel Magic works to dispel yourself and dispel the enemy. Discipline Priest is the best Healer in PvP and Holy Priest is the best healer in PvE. It's the hardest to play and if you choose to play one you will not enjoy playing it. Hunters and Warlocks will send their pets to you. Death Knights will pull you. Druids and Shamans will push you off cliffs. Warriors will Charge you. Rogues will stun lock kill you. I have been playing Priest for 8 years and I hate it.

  4. That's why priest is last on the list cause other healers are simply easier or a bit stronger healers than priest. Priest in WotLK can be easily bursted down without **** ton of resilience while it's much harder to do with holy paladin.

  5. It's very important to mention that each healer has its niche.

While a holydin is the best defensive healer in the game, it is also the worst offensive healer.

  6. Regarding pvp, I'd be more worried about which class are your friend/s going to play with. Holy paladin is very strong with an arms warrior, but it also can be very (very) boring. Priest is the hardest to play, but once mastered it's a very adaptable pain in the back. However, in wotlk resto druid will always be the most balanced and rewarding healer in pvp (for me, I might clarify).
Regarding pve, choose the one you like most. I don't think there's really a big difference against the AI, plus every healer can be useful in different situations.
