Is feral a good dps class in cataclysm?
Also what are some other good dps classes melee/range

Feral is a very good class in terms of DPS, very gear dependant though. Unfortunately there are a couple of end game fights that you can't get behind the bosses back, which is where a Feral needs to be to use their main damaging ability (Shred). You can still do decent dps by Mangle spamming, but it would be more benefical if you had a Healer/Tank OS for them fights (Boomkin is one of the lowest dps's here, not sure if intended or if there is some bug).
Other classes, top of the Melee would be Arms and then Ret. Though currently Assasination rogues are bugged and can do stupid dps from Venemous Wounds, but I expect that will be fixed soon. Combat is a pretty good spec too for a lot of fights. Enhance shamans are in a good spot too.
For ranged, obviously Fire Mage. They are the best ranged Dps from Retail Cata and due to a bug (Either ignite or Mastery) they can combust for a insane amount, usually giving them 1Million+ dps for their burst. They are probably the highest DPS class at the minute with this bug. Survival hunter is also a very good class and same for Spriests.
If, whenever, all these bugs get fixed I would rank the dps as:
Arms
Fire
Ret
Feral (on bosses that they can get behind)
Survival/Spriest

Thanks a lot for the insight, I will be going with feral since it's the class I mostly enjoy and I used to play fire mage in wotlk so I don't think I will be playing mage in cata.

I don't know why you say "boomkin is one of the lowest dps's here" i play boomie pvp and pve (my main) and doing very good in pve aswell doing 30/33k dps on dummy self buff with 393 pve is actually very good :)

I have been in many of the high-end raiding guilds, and not one of them had a boomkin in their core. And any pug I join, I see few Boomies and the ones I do see, pull pitiful DPS. Maybe the players are just bad...but it doesn't help with the fact that rarely anyone plays them. 33k dps is impressive for any class with 393 ilvl....was it just your burst, or did you go for a good 5 minutes+?

i think i have SS where i did 12 mils dmg done and 30k+ dps and ye that boomies are emberessing thinking "oh lets spam moonfire and kill everything and be top dmg" but soon they realise it's not like that so they stop playing it (but ye boomie is pretty decent as dps)

Then them ret's should reroll. But note I said 'after all bugs are fixed'.
That was the ranking roughly given on Retail Cata, except Spriest doing ******ed damage on Madness due to spellweave

World of Logs are redundant to check out old content...if you even looked yourself you would see certain classes was doing 200k dps on specific fight, never did that ever happen on Retail.

World of Logs, I have no idea how, becomes false after new content is out. I do not know how, but as I pointed out, when the **** has a class done 200k dps on a fight such as Yor HC ? Stop arguing with everything I say in every thread, it's getting tedious and boring.
Edit: By top raiders, I mean core members of Method, Midwinter, Paragon etc. People that get paid to play this game.
