all they did was increase the prices on everything in the point store
Yes, that's what they did, and they said they would do it. See, not just squish the points by a factor of 10 , but also adjusted the price.
Adjusted, as in , items harder to obtain, costing much more.
Again, working as intended.
They haven't lied us, they haven't decived us in any way. It's just that it's alot harder to get stuff for free now, and alot of players are upset by this.
I am sure I saw post when someone was asking how they will round the prices if the final price will with decimals. For example previous cost was 107, new cost should be 107/10 = 10.7 (10 or 11 when rounded). Staff responded that they will round down, so the price of 107 item would be 10. Now the price of 107 item is 17, I fail to see how it is squishing by 10.
I don't get it either, the other services like fraction, name, race change are squished by exactly by the old price/10. I guess we will have to wait and see where are they going with this and if items like mounts/pets an other vanity items (orb of sin'dorei, darkspear pride etc) even appear on vote shop as before.
Anyone else having trouble collecting points on Warsong? I feel the issue lies in the achievement scaling reward system. Isn't this unfair to PvP servers because they, objectively speaking, have less achievements available to them?

That was just a rough example to state prices wouldn't remain in the hundreds. Show me a post where someone from the Staff stated that prices would be cut down exactly to 1/10th of their price. I can tell you already you won't find any, if you want to save yourself the trouble.

But edifice did say they would be same price or even slightly cheaper, i know it was never said prices were going to go up atleast 40% like they have ;)

This isn't a rough example... it's an actual question I asked on the forum 4 weeks ago which DID get a response from a Staff member. Hence my confusion here and thus the topic.
I asked this very same question in the " [WoTLK] Point shop rework" topic in the Latest News Forum
Here is the link... please note the staff members response right below my question.

You're also able to get up to 1.2 point, which would be 12 points before, which is more than you could get in the past. The thing that was in fact said is that the prices were going to be adjusted. Maybe at the time he thought of reducing them and giving less points. Turns out those parts of the initial intention were changed.

That is exactly what a rough example is.
No, signed contracts, no promises, no exact numbers or items mentioned, just a rough example of how the prices were going to be adapted to the new system that awards one-tenth the points. You're focusing on one rough example, while ignoring the already mentioned fact the list of what would be done was the prices being adjusted, and trying to claim we "lied." We don't become liars because you make your own interpretations of what you selectively read. Cease that now.

No one is arguing the fact that we can , if all requirements met, get 12 points instead of 10 but that doesn't change the fact it was said prices were going to be same/ slightly cheaper making everyone happy only to find out they went through the roof. That is the only reason people here are complaining/QQing. Remember it was just like the new coin donation amounts also, just this time its points.
You people are full of BS. In that same topic you're linking, in the very first post Edifice wrote this:
"- Lower end northrend items will cost the same or slightly more"
OR slightly more. Do you understand what that means? It means that all your BS about 10x squash is just that, BS.

If you're another selective reader, who only picks and chooses which part to read, all I have left to say to you (or anyone nitpicking about the adjusted prices, for that matter) is: feel free to opt-out of the point reward system.
