1. Why is opponent health vissible in PVP

Why blizzard decided to allow players to see each others health while in opposing factions, for me it makes more sense the health to be invisible or only shown as percentage at most. More surprisingly i could not find a single thread about this subject on battle net forums, which is one of the first things that came to my mind even though i don't really do pvp

  2. You wouldn't happen to be a roleplayer, would you?

I dont know what this means, i play here on Lordaeron and thats it

Roleplayers are players that pretend they are their character by acting and talking in the way they think their character would if it was real. I was wondering if you're one because it didn't make any sense to you why it's important to know the precise health of your target, which sounds like something a roleplayer would complain about. "WHY CAN MY ENEMY TELL EXACTLY HOW HURT I AM? OMG MY IMMERSION!". No, the psychic ability to tell your enemy's current condition doesn't make sense in terms of the world but it makes perfect sense in terms of game mechanics.

For me it will be more thrilling to attack someone without knowing when he will die and i am sure it can be done to work without knowing the health of your enemy even though i probably don't know those reasons that make it necessary

A lot of PvP decision-making is based on the current health of your targets so by hiding it, you're just handicapping yourself. You can hide health with the help of addons if you really want to, just don't expect experienced PvPers to feel the same way.

  7. You will handicap yourself but so will your enemy so it's again even, the balance won't be changed but i am not a pvper anyway i think i got somewhat of an answer so the thread can be closed now

Oh yes, the "balance" would change and so would PvP as a whole. Using information about your opponent to your advantage is a big part of what makes a PvPer good. By making an important variable like player health invisible, you're just encouraging passive, blind flailing until someone falls over, instead of a reactionary playstyle that awards paying attention to what you're hitting.

Well, then you can just not look?
I'd wager the fact you haven't found anything about it on retail Forums is because most people like it that way.

  10. For the sake of clarity of course. It makes no sense to remove clarity on a game where people constantly carve at their screens for information about their surroundings.

  11. Because they did.
You can always remove part of it or all of it.

Find an addon that controls your ui including health windows (xperl as an example) then use that addon to hide the player's health. Problem solved. We are not blizzard, we do not know why they made the decisions they did. Deal with it and move on please.

Also if you're worried about health bars above player avatars, then that is a simple ESC > Options > Interface option you can turn on or off. If you have the default keys it is V (for enemies) for Shift + V (for allies (does enemies too I believe)).

  13. There isn't anything to be solved, it's not about me its about everyone, and it was a question out of curiosity, as i said i received my answer and that's it

I think he wants everyone to have their HP hidden from opposing faction, anyway I think the visibility of HP is part of the fight or flight reaction, if you have 300k HP and you see someone with a red HP bar and 500k written on it then you pack your crap and run while you still have your liver attached to your body
