I've played Vanilla etc.. and I have this feeling that leveling is even slower than it was back then. I notice this mostly with the awful spawnrate of quest-mobs and quest-items in the world.
I hope this isn't somekind of tactic to get people to buy a level-boost.
First of all, which expansion/realm are you talking about? Secondly, we do not slow down leveling intentionally anyhow.
Are you sure? When I joined XP was 20x. Must have been an accident that it isn't anymore....
That being said, Khaeyus1 if they were to lower drop rates (or xp) rates they would probably first tell us. May not ask us our opinion, but at least they would tell us, they would not just change things w/o telling.

XP Rates were lowered long time ago because people would skip a lot of content and couldnt even earn proper amount of gold at low level, aswell economy was ****ed pretty bad. That didnt happened on "accident".

Which is all much, much worse now. On 7x realms, you can't earn gold to train or get mounts and trying to make gold with professions is much harder now too, hence why everybody is "reserving" boes, primos, and anything they can sell. The economy is beyond horrible. It used to be much better, you could earn gold easily while leveling and could make a decent amount by putting in some effort without resorting to stealing.
Agree. I tried to level on a x7 rates realm a couple of days ago - level 26 and bankrupt. No mobs drop gear, just mats and too little coin.
I just mined 2 stacks of copper ore and sold them on the AH for a whooping 50g each stack, making me 100g richer.
When i noticed green items being sold for 500g+ , i kinda died inside and went back to Lordaeron.

Considering that a level boost is not available for Lordaeron, and never will be (as said by staff), I'd have to wonder if you're on crack or something.

Um.. The BOE reservations became apparent when ninjaing became bannable. Lots of raids were reserving BOEs for years, even back on retail, you only notice it now because they're required to announce it early on instead of when the item drops.

You don't see that reserving crap on Cata, only on Wrath and only since the wipe. Either way, the point is that it is extremely hard to make gold on the Wrath servers.

That must explain my personal guild bank packed with flasks, gems, food, and enough gold to never worry about running out. Not counting the 11 alts that are fully gemmed and enchanted, half of them being fully boe'd. Ask anyone on ragnaros if Pokemon leads raids or reserves items, they'll all say the same thing: He doesn't do either.
