Faction Changing With Battered Hilt Quest

Hello, I recently changed my faction and seem to have lost the Battered Hilt questline. I enjoy playing on this server and I've donated more than a few times, but the response I received from a GM was that they don't restore quests. Why is that? I paid a lot of gold for a battered hilt in game just to have it disappear when I pay money in real life to change my faction? I just don't understand why you wouldn't be able to restore my quest progress, as it is hard enough to get into groups as a dps. Thanks.

GMs can't or aren't allowed to do that. All quests are removed from your quest log when you change faction. If you wanted to finish it then you should have done it before changing faction.

Okay I understand that. I recently just got another battered hilt and was doing the quest line. it said to temper it inside the crucible of souls in fos. while in fos at the end of the dungeon I just used it and it disappeared from my inventory without any quest completion. Surely you can help me there? I dont understand what happened

You must use it behind last boss in FoS. If you use the item elsewhere in FoS it disappears. You can abandon the quest and retake it from questgiver.
