1. Got hacked and a toon got deleted

Hello i took a name at Lorderaon at the first day, but after few days it got deleted - i assume i got hacked, because i dont share any information (passwords and else) with my surroundings.

But today i saw the name online at Alliance side, and therefore want to report this now (i didnt before because i thought it would punish him more if he levels him up and get banned/deleted later) - unfortunately i cant prove this with a screenshot (at character screen or else), because i never thought that it would happen.

Can a GM still check in the database in this case (so he can see that i had the name first and also if another IP logged in that day where the toon got deleted) and therefore delete the player with the toon or ban him due the fact that i got hacked?

    Greetings

  2. No, you didn't get hacked - you let your account be compromised.
And no, GMs aren't going to check anything, much less delete a character because of your claim. Not only the security of your account is your responsibility, for all we know you willingly let someone else use the account or even gave away the name and now changed your mind.

  3. At the moment Lordaeron was launched it was possible for multiple people to get the same name. Characters with duplicate names were deleted a few hours later.

How the hack this guy knows more info about what happend on the time of Lord release, than a moderator?

  5. Compromised - so if someone logs into my account against my will and with help of another program (or however they do it) its not a hack? I even use the authenticator and not an easy password

So why there are players who get their accounts back after they got hacked? I know its not similar to my case, but still use the same methods to claim it - is that also due not paying enough attention in their security? Some yes due handing out their e-mail and password, but not everyone for sure (like me in my case)

    @anyone0

That might the solution, thanks a lot - i wondered already why i got no email due authenticator

In this case it might be because I accidentally made characters with the same name on 2 accounts and reported it when I noticed it.

Because he doesn't? The thread creator made a claim regarding his account being accessed by someone else, I addressed that claim. Besides that, the thread creator claims the character got deleted a few days later, when what anyone0 described was happening within a few hours of the release and was fixed on the first day. But actually paying attention to details is irrelevant when you want to be a jackass to Staff, yes?

Yes, no matter how someone accesses your account, it only happens because you let it happen, be it intentionally or by lack of care. Players get thei accounts back after they are stolen because they contact support to recover access, but any damage done to the account isn't fixed - lost characters, lost gold, lost equipment are all gone.

It says a few days later so I assumed he checked it a few days later.

Yes, I used the wrong word, meant "later." I assumed instead, since he claimed his account was "hacked" and the character deleted, that he was actually actively playing and noticed the character disappear from the list.

  10. I wrote that it happened a few days after release - but it might be on the first, i wasnt paying a lot of attention at that time. I wanted to use the name for my DK, but focused on another toon at that time, then after few days i realized it was gone - i even had a topic at that time regarding the same issue

Anyways, what gone is gone - topic can be closed

  11. The GMs should be able to help you, but you won't know. On retail I deleted my mage 4 times (yes, 4 times, really), made a ticket and all of the times the GMs were OK with recovering my character. But you should try asking guidance via ticket either website or in-game I assume, not forums.

Hello young master - thanks for hint! I know that retail refunded items or such stuffs, but thats not Blizzard

But if i report anything (bugs or against players) - its usually always and only Aldtharios who answers my reports since 2012 (!), although i forward it to all GM. Sometimes my reports will get answered (we look into it or refuse) and sometimes no answer at all.

It also takes a while to write a report, to upload the screenshots, sort them etc. Before i lose the time doing that, ill ask beforehand if i have any chances of success in this case - which got denied

They now added an option in the client for that.
