When I click "Join Battle" in my interface nothing happens. This is so irritating -_-

That happens if your bg pop while or just before you teleport somewhere that requires a loading screen. For example if you are in stormwind and use hearthstone to Vale of Eternal Blossom. While you have the loading screen if a bg would pop, you are unable to enter it and must reque.

I guess his problem is related to "twink bgs" issue, basically sometimes for mysterious reason the "join battle" does not work for bgs under lvl 90.
It is a general bug, not just you. If you are having this problem at lvl 90 then it's what ollsson said

he didn`t specify but you`re both right, although i haven`t had that port bug in a long time..
