1. Warmane's premium membership grants exclusion from database clean-up of inactive accounts, and taking from the guideline there is no exception made for Lordaeron regarding this feature.

Would you please confirm that characters of level 10 or lower will not be deleted in Lordaeron provided they belong to a premium account? Thank you very much in advance!

Just for the record, I am not a name hoarder, in fact, I do not even reach the 10 character limit. However, due to work and a busy life, I can't play all my characters at once, and I would not like any of them to be deleted just because a few so-called "popular names" got stolen, as it is subjectively claimed by some, despite the fact the legitimacy of the concept itself is still arguable, since character naming is FCFS anyway.
My guess is you would be excluded if you are a premium member. This item on the list is not marked with a **, so it should apply to Lordaeron as well.

No, I won't confirm anything, one way or another. As I clearly stated, all that happened was a possibility being mentioned.
But if it does happens, it won't be because of "stolen names" per se, but to keep names from being hoarded and unused. You call it illegitimate, but I personally consider it much more illegitimate to hold onto names that you haven't used enough to get them to level 10, something so trivial I can barely consider a "limitation."
It doesn't really matter here whether or not it's actually going to happen. It was mentioned before as a possibility and Cerberus's question is, in the event that it DOES happen, would premium accounts be excluded from the clean up?

Thanks for the double response. I hope not to be too redundant with the following lines, but otherwise it feels inconclusive to me:

You misunderstood me, I do not consider a data base clean-up illegitimate, but the concept of name ownership due to a self-given idea of popularity, when the character naming is undoubtedly FCFS. My characters are named in a role-playing fashion, I do not think any of these names steals any so-called popular identities, as none of them ever were any popular anyway. However, I personally would not take nicely to be forced to level all my low-level characters just to avoid them to be deleted. This also does not make me feel encouraged to donate further and attain the premium membership for this reason.

Either way, you may consider updating Warmane's premium membership noting this exception in the "exclusion from database clean-up" clause to avoid lots of angry premium members if such clean-up ever takes place.
This precisely what I meant to inquiry about in the first place:

It doesn't really matter here whether or not it's actually going to happen. It was mentioned before as a possibility and Cerberus's question is, in the event that it DOES happen, would premium accounts be excluded from the clean up?
I was just evaluating to donate motivated by protecting a few low-level characters I got and I know will not be able to level in any time soon, due to work and a busy life, I guess the answer is no. Best wishes!

  3. Thanks for the double response. I hope not to be too redundant with the following lines, but otherwise it feels inconclusive to me
When something hasn't been decided, the answers about how it would affect a specific case tend to be inconclusive, yes.

  4. Glad you mentioned this. What you think is your intellectual property "created" on character creation is NOT your intellectual property. In one of the "I Accept/Agree" forms they make you click through when you create an account is one that clearly states any account or character on "Warmane" is their property. They "can" do with it what they please. You are entitled to nothing but what they allow you to do with the account you made and the characters you create.

    Like this guy said:

Your name is not "yours" unless its unique and trademarked / copyrighted.

The name is yours after u press accept at character-creation on any realm. Does it say "name taken"? Then the name isnt yours on that realm. Quite easy.

Only way to make sure u get your names is to be there when server is released.

    Those who cant, though luck.

Nothing u can do but wait for cleanup and hope the guy who "stole" ur name has it on a char below lvl 10.
