Training Dummies

Hello, i was just wondering if training dummies, when attacked increase your skill level with your weapon?

Why don't you try it ? I personaly don't know i guess no, but either way i would prefor to test it myself then to open a thread and wait for a response

I did and it did not work for me, so i wanted to see if others were having this issue.

I asked the same on global and some people pm'ed me saying that it's a custom feature that dummies level your weapon skill, that it wasn't like that on retail. Soon after I leveled the skills with mobs, like a man :D

On wowhead people are talking about leveling up weapon skills via dummies back in 3.0.3

Yeh maybe you are right. It does not really bother me i just lvled up with mobs. i just wanted to know what was going on lol

from http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Weapon_skill, it seems that since 3.0.8 training dummy cannot grant you weapon skill anymore.

Patch 3.0.8 (2009-01-20): You can no longer skill up weapons on mobs that are immune to damage.

I guess it save to say that training dummy is part of "mobs that are immune to damage" since training dummy cannot die.

It's worth noting that you can only gain skill ups on mobs that give you experience. (green and up)

Speaking of target dummies, do you know who are best target dummies? Ally Bosses... they have not a single spell
