All Mooncloth is the way to go. As a Shadow Priest in PvP your crit value from going full Satin is not worth it due to resilience. Instead go Mooncloth and gem for SP/haste to get high, consistent damage as well as additional mana regen.
That's correct. Don't listen to the bull****ters who tell you to get Satin. Spec's, reliant on crit are, weak in PvP compared to the haste/sp based ones because crit is to a big extent influenced by resilience. Same applies for crit gear. Mooncloth is the way to go for any PvP priest spec.
For just BGs i would go for :
1. Mooncloth cause the Satin Set is just not worth it ( hello Crit vs Resi )
2. Mix Set ( for double Bonus ) more Mooncloth then Satin here. ( i was going with this for BGs on my human Priest whole time and i pref it. )
The four set bonus from Mooncloth is worth taking over the two sets of +100 resi imo. Gaining 100 resi and losing the spirit/spellpower as well as the faster PW:S isn't worth it in my experience.
How about Shadow tree`s talents Mind Melt and Shadow Power - should we take those talents? On paper they look strong but since resilience negates almost all crit you have then there is no point putting talents there. I have read some topics about these talents but didnt get clear thoughts - a lot of ppl skipped Shadow Power but included Mind Melt in their build.
What are Warmanes pro`s thoughts?
Those talents are usually excluded from the basic Shadow Priest PvP spec for the same reason Satin gear is.
However, there are people who take them and play with Satin gear, gem crit, and get above 30% crit from gear only. Yet the Mooncloth gear is usually better since most Sp/X comps focus on longer games with controlled burst and a lot of dispells/heals rather than on short games with a lot of burst at the start. Thus you're better off not taking Mind Melt and Shadow Power in your talent spec.
