How to play ?

I have a stupid question. I am a new player of world of warcraft, and I don't know what to do after downloading client. I click "log in" after launch, and launcher told me to download a patch. So I downloaded this patch and now my game doesn't work.

You shouldn't update any patches. Now you have to download the client again most likely. What you should do is not use the launcher in your wow folder but instead use the wow.exe present in the same folder

So I should download the WOTLK client, open the wow.exe and that's all?

yes that's all. Then ofc you should login with your account and create a character and then you start to play

Emm, when I log in I have "0% downloading patch" and when I click "cancel" to stop downloading game is crashing. Any ideas?
