1. The server situation; some thoughts.

First things first, I like having all these people online. I've met loads of people, played with, helped and been helped by so many people; but, and it's a big one, the consistency of the game experience has taken a real dip lately. If it was just disconnects, I think I might have been ok with the situation. I can even handle the idea of re-queuing to an extent. What I cannot abide is disconnecting and then being stuck at the realm list to the point of giving up with Lordaeron apparently still up since it's still green in the list. I'm in no position to know whether or not the causative factor is the increased player cap, but this spate of login server crashes seemed to really come to the fore around the time we went up to 10k players. If it's the hardware not keeping up, perhaps it's time to bring the player cap back down a touch.

If it's not the uprated player cap that's the cause, I'm not going to dog the staff asking what the cause is since it's not my business and I'm sure they know way better than me; but I will state that I think stability should be higher on the priority list at this moment in time. I can DEFINITELY live with Ulduar being delayed till any bumps of this nature are ironed out and I'd be willing to guess I'm not alone in this.

Again, I don't want to sound like I'm griping because this realm is the best thing since sliced bread and it's not going anywhere. I'd just like to point out that there are some problems that probably need attention before fixing "Last Rites".

    Peace, love and prosperity.

  2. Crashes are a random thing some are even caused by players. I doubt it's the player cap or population, because if you check the information tab you'll see that lordaeron is not the only realm crashing.

  3. Yesterday morning when i was playing on lord, I got 2 dcs when i pressed ,,release spirit,, after dying. I asked about it in my guild and some guildies confirmed that they get dc when they release (this happens in about 40-50% cases)

Yep, i have been in same situation as you, sometimes when i press release, i instantly get dc.

  5. Not too long ago Lordaeron had been up for like 2.5 days without going down (and that was with the 10k population cap). Isolated DC's by "small" amounts of players aren't necessarily due to errors with the server, server errors would be more like when unannounced restarts/crashes happen and thousands of players on one and or multiple realms DC.

As far as the realm selection list goes a lot of the time after a restart/crash if you let the list stay up after trying to reconnect with no success you will see Lordaeron go from "green" to "red" then back to "green" when it is back online. I don't think the realm selection list is in "real time" because sometimes you can click "ok" when it is red and connect so relying on the realm status color alone may not be a reliable indicator.

More than happy to be wrong about the player cap being the causative factor here. I might just be attaching some significance to it for no reason. That said, 2.5 days uptime does not = 2.5 days game time. I'm beyond sure there were people being disconnected, so the fact remains that the actual gaming experience is being impacted by something. More to the point, it's certainly NOT a small amount of players. Irrespective of whether or not it's a sever issue or a network routing issue, there IS an issue and you can't possibly say that 2.5 days of uptime is a great record for a game with persisting universe.
