I'm a newbie to cataclysm but looking at the store the items are really expensive and not that great. I'm comparing this to the wotlk realms where u can buy the best non heroic wep and trinkets. It is worth buying anything as a starting player or just take it step by step and grind reps dailyes and normals. Any advice would be apreciated ( i'm a fire mage). I already read most of the gearing tutorials about cataclysm just curious if it's worth buying something with points for pve.

With reworked shop its hard to gear up your character through vote shop. Also it will take you way too long to collect enough points to buy proper gear, if you dont have enough achievement points to collect at least 1 point per day you are screwed.

i already get 1.2 points per day and have some saved up just wanted to know if it's worth using them. Since i don't know how hard it to get those items that are on points. Played alot of wotlk before.

Depends on your gear and if you can join raids, afaik every item on vote shop is obtainable on cata realm through dungeons and raids. Personally i always buy trinket from shop, from my experience its really easy to gear up in Cataclysm. If you are able to join any guild that will run you through Firelands and Dragon Soul you should be geared up in no time.

It is very easy to get those items in the cata Marketplace. It is not worth it to buy any gear from the Cata marketplace. None of the gear will even let you into raiding on this server. Just farm dungeons getting JP, to buy 378 gear, and doing FL rep farms to get your trinkets.
Edit: Only thing maybe worthwhile would be to get a Vicious weapon from marketplace, except that would be replaced within a few days from RHOT farming, as they drop 378 weapons.Edited: January 7, 2016

Nope, there is nothing worthwhile in Cata vote shop, who knows if we will ever get a real vote shop.
