Hey there! I am just starting on lord and was curious as to how the factions balance out. I have always been a raider, with some pvp mixed in. Playing in central time US, but if I raided it would have to be 9pm CST or so before start due to work hours. Are horde/ally pretty evne on PVE progression? Or does one side have more raiding guild options than the other (like most private servers)

10k people online at peak times + 2k in queue,do you really think that there is a shortage of pve guilds on any side ? Choose the one you like better.

Smart *** remark, check. I used to play on Nostalrius and the PVE market was dominated by horde, even though they had 8k+ people online as well. That being said, I was looking more for information based around my preferred raiding times (late night central). If you are telling me it is pretty much even, then that will work. Thanks!

Count the number of Alliance and Horde, if you care for only high end only look at the Blackwing Lair clear times. You couldn't be more wrong in your statement. However, given the tone of your response you probably have you own preconceived bias the likes of which any numbers or stats or common sense would not change.
Any statement regarding the better PvP faction would only be one of anecdotal evidence. Everything is even barring Alterac Valley which historically "favors" the alliance (Based on statistical data not narrow opinions).Edited: January 8, 2016

Its too early to tell,it will take lot more then few weeks to determine which one is better,but even then,if you have friends and you're running premades,you're more likely to win.

Here's the deal:
the most selfish faction is alliance. for example: you're doing a "kill N mobs" quest. the nearby horde comes and starts to kill you (50% hp). the nearby ally at the same level just stands behind the tree or passes you by and then kills your enemy and the mob at the same time. this ****bag gains honor+exp+quest count. the only strong side here it's pvp. constant AB wins. But it's only my 57 lvl experience.
the horde is friendly, most of realm firsts belong to horde. during leveling I always get invited, ressurected by random guy who's not in a group, they helpful in any situation vs alliance. but, they also like to gank and pvp side is too weak,so that's why they gank a lot. they only bg they win is Warsong.
That's why I have a pve character for Horde and pvp for Alliance.
Btw in a social meaning horde's global is dead. In allys chat you'll always find some aggro kids with attention lack or political and racial conversations. Horde's chat is more like "WTB WTS LFM"Edited: January 8, 2016

You are right,you're not level 80. Just in leveling phase,I think the op was talking about endgame. Not sure tho. Luckily I started at the same time everyone else did so I didnt experience much of a ganking. Feel sorry for you guys. :D But hey,atleast you have less problems finishing quest,when I started,had to wait 30-1hour to get specific item or Elite.
