Been dual boxing for a short time - about a year or so. On retail I had no issues with running two clients at a steady 60 fps. With the 3.3.5a clients, I'm running into issues with dual boxing.
The inactive window drops from 60 fps to 30 fps. I'm starting to think that it's a possible Windows 10 issue?
Since there isn't a setting to adjust foreground and background FPS, is this is 3.3.5a client issue (ver 12340)? Is there another 3.3.5a client that supports background and foreground settings? (From what I've seen, some clients support new character styles)
To lower the maximum frame rate , enter /console maxfps X in the in-game chat window.
You can also enter /console maxfpsbk X to limit the maximum background frame rate. This command lowers the frame rate when the game is out of focus or minimized.
X is the max amount fps that you want to have
Good luck
Thanks Bosanov! For some reason last night I couldn't get the command to work, but today it is!
My issue with 30fps in the "background" is that I dual box with two WoW windows (clients) open on separate monitors. I enjoy swapping back and forth between my Master and Slave.
