And also kick those multiboxers (I understand there is not many of them, but even 200 less queue means a lot to me).
I'm not liking multiboxing, but the fact is that I play a lot and I haven't seen a single one during at least 3 weeks. I doubt you'd even find 100 characters logged for multiboxing. AFK people on the other hand will beat that number at least 10 times.
Anyway, in my experience, true AFKers just simply move a little bit the toon when, for example, farming concrete respawns or stuff.
The problem, as said above is that most AFKers here just log in to actually avoid the queue.
And ofc multiboxers are not the root of the problem.
My personal recommendation is just play any other thing. Preferably a windowed thing.
Maybe... just a cool indie roguelike game (TBOI maybe?) and wait till the queue is done. Thats what I do.
PD: When posting this im trying a few indies out and stuck at 135 on the queue. No hurry.
But TBH I understand ppl who dont have all the time they'd like to play, for them, this is an actual horrible problem D: poor them.
Alright so I joined since the start of the server, managed to level myself up to 72 slowly but surely. Anyway atm I only have time to play in the evening, I live in the Netherlands so that's usually the peak time of Lordaeron. The queue has become so bad that I cannot even log in anymore, by the time the queue is over I maybe have 30 minutes left before having to go to bed, due to school the next day. So yea I don't have all the time in the world to play and I'm pretty sure many people are dealing with the same problems. I'm really hoping the capacity can be increased to like 12k, I heard it wouldn't happen but cmon, try to make some tests with higher cap and the performance. Making a better anti afk system could also fix something.
I couldn't agree more.
I don't think there is a need for a 2nd server which would help with huge que's. Auto kicking people who are AFK for more than 10 min's should solve the problem - I think, and I hope.
I don't know how hard is it to write something like that but I'm sure it would help a lot with all these slackers :)
i feel this would encourage players to not donate and that's one reason WM is holding off on doing another server.
I am pretty sure players in the login screen are shown as players online, since ingame the amount of players is usually stable at 10k players at peak times. If it was not, when some players that were in the login-screen go ingame, there would be more than 10k players online in the list from time to time.
There are reasons to keep it this way:
1. There are more players shown "ingame" and the website without faking any
2. There are less players playing on the server, because many slots are blocked by the login-screen sitters -> less players = better performance/less lag
3. The longer the queue, the more players who would usually not donate are willing to give some money to skip queue
4. If the hardware cant handle 10k players without lag, but like 7-8k, no new hardware has to by bought
The reasons against the login-screen:
1. Some players who would login at peaktimes to level or cant join (1k+ queue) their guildraids in time are frustrated and might be quitting
2. Stuff seems greedy and anti-casual to waiting players
To be honest Im pretty sure the staff will keep it this way, since they can afford to lose some players and its the least effort this way.
