Why would it be stupid? Because you're making less profit?
Who would have guessed that the economy doesn't revolves around your prices...
Nono , the thing is, theres absolutly 0 profit if the prize goes lower.
Its not my prize. I'm like every other alchemist selling flask on a logged Prize making some profit of it not to much so its worth it.
Keep buying the cheaper flasks and sell them for 50g. This may take some time and gold, but if you sell them for 50g you will make profit ;)
Same for mats. Try buying all the mats available for a reasonable price. If you buy the cheap mats, the other guy wont be able to offer Flasks for such a cheap price.
Or:
Accept that there's a new price. It happens to all of us, not only to alchimists. What sells good today may sell bad tomorrow. Adapt and find some new source of gold.
OP doesn't even knows Auction House tricks and common economy rules, all he cares is farm and sell at steady price.
A new shopkeeper in the town opened shop and is selling out cheap items than him, so he is worried that none buying from him and he is not willing to accept this.
I am not going to explain the whole reasons why that guy is undercutting so much and what are his conditions on profession [Simply because i am not your Shifu]. But as i had held myself the monopoly of auction house over continuous 1 month once, so i know what that guy is upto. Trust me,he will get bored of it sooner or later because even i got bored after spamming gold ^_^
You can just pray to god so that guy gets bored sooner or change your profession for better future :D
What can't you understand? If some one is selling at such reduced prices its because THERE IS a profit that they like, so you either adapt or quit. They are not making items and selling them for something that isn't worth it for them. Simple as day and night.
If those prices held for more than 2 weeks as you said, that means they were overly inflated, but people still bought because its like water- we all need it, so when a new competition shows around that does the same exact thing, same "quality" (even though WoW doesn't have a quality check, assume there is one), and they keep doing it, that means something's wrong with YOUR prices not theirs.
This isn't exactly the real world, its a player-by-player driven economy, unless there is a WoW corporation where they use their funds together to drive prices to whatever they want and share in the profits, then there's nothing to complain about.
OP u do understand that it happened to the ores too right? u just dont care, thats how it is with economy.
u would be surprised to know there are some rich ppl in the server that buy in the AH some specific item - just to sell it in overpriced cost

i fully understand that but keep in mind. The Non Crafter will ofcourse buy everything more if it goes down that much.
But what i want to say look at that from the other site. If you open a Car Shop for example, and you sell your cars for 1000$
but then you see you would make more money if you sold only parts/materials from the Car one by one and make 2000$ of that.
i hope you get my thinking or maybe my washington is that bad? Who knows ? :D
And stop talking about World Economy and all other ****, i fully understand prizes will go down for every profession.
I just want to tell some People to stop Cutting AH Prizes by 50%. Because the next Person who doesnt have auctioneer or something will cut that again for 10% and so on.
and who are u to say to not cut prices that maybe are already too high ? are u some professional auctioneer? some ppl get mats for nothing so they sell for their worth thats all, just shows how easy it is - anyway i dont care that post is just stupid im out.
I still have so much hate letters over deathwing regarding Auction House sales which can simply vouch for my hands over Auction House Tricks.
I will let you taste some gold loss when i will be playing on Auction House. Hope you are an ally to feel the fun of overcutting
Ok as an Auction House seller, its my mats my items my profession so i can undercut by any % i want to. If you are selling 10 Chocos for 100G each and i have 20 Chocos then i wont care selling my chocos at 50G each.
Why so ? What i am doing ? I am just collecting the gold which you or someone else had got due to my hardcore farming.

why do you think you should make 20 gold profit just for 1 second of crafting?
AH price of material to make one spell power flask with elixir mastery is 30g.
Maybe he was just tired of people overpricing eacg flask by 20gold when it takes 0 effort to make.
