So why do we always get invadet by ddos(barbarians scuums) what they want? Why are they doing it? What's the purpose and the point of ddos?
And also... i actually never saw or heard about blizzard wow server to be ddosed... so why is this happening?

Not really worth to pinpoint where the attack is coming from since its simply an order from some one to thousands of other "slaves" to "attack" the server, its not easy to do if not impossible? Not sure, but not worth to know at all, if its some one who was paid to do it, it might piss him off and do it more often out of spite...
basically its better to just defend yourself.

We have a bad configuration on one of the servers causing the outage that just happened, lack of sleep will do that.
All should be back to complete-normality now, including ddos protection.

We will deploy the same changes to Deathwing that we did on Ragnaros when some of the staff that handle that sort of thing have had a rest, they're asleep now.

2014, september'ish i believe. Blizzard was DDoS'd really hard and then yes, again during WoD's release. I was there on both accounts, i'd say its just as easy to DDoS Blizzard as it is to DDoS Warmane, the Difference is Blizzard has a F' ton of money and will pursue your *** with the proper authoritites and most people know this and consider this.
Also many other companies were DDoS'd in 2014 including Sony Playstation Network and Facebook, Netflix and several others. I'm guessing OP just doesn't get out much...

Many other sites get DDoS'd as well, they just run on a smaller scale then Blizzard or Sony so you don't hear about it as much.

I checked a live ddos map yesterday, the majority of the attacks toward the locations I have identified as warmane logon and www were coming from china and india, not that that information actually means anything as Lanrien stated:

Why?? If we catch the guy which is doing ddos so he gets punished,does an anti-virus exist for such thing?
To scan and detect unnautorizet people.

why would Warmane nuke themselves and as such likely decrease the chances someone's going to think "ya I like to play here, stable, few bugs, I'm going to support them by donating"
