I know this has been asked a million times now, but I still can't come to a definite decision... I play Resto Shaman, and I want to roll a PVE DPS caster class. I wanted to play Destro Warlock, but I saw that lock demons are bugged and don't do anything. Are they still worth it? Basically, the dilemma is:
Destro Warlock or Fire / Arcane Mage?
Which is the easiest to play and which yields the most DPS? Thanks in advance!!!

Destro is fine, Demo lock is bugged. Destro locks don't really use pets.

Affliction lock is better then destro in PVE, PVP, everywhere :)

Kinda, yes, but mage in PVE is way more powerful and in PVP also, there is more comps with mage that can give u glad - kek 3's are dead here.
Fire is best spec ever, who doesnt like to burn shyt :)
In the end, roll boomkin - they are beasts in pvp

Destru is absolutely easy, Affli needs some focus to keep the dots up.
Arcane same as Destru no much skill needed, Fire is kinda hard for a first time player I think.

a fire mage can do everything a destro lock can ( and more ) and do it better
playing a lock your CC revolves around fear and that is the most counterable form of CC in the game : ud racial , shaman tremor totem , dk AMS , lichborne , warrior zerk rage.. and so on
you wil have better overall chance Vs all classes 1v1 with a fire mage than with a destro lock . Even damage wise a fire mage id say they are better . Since your probably the slowest caster in the game , and you lack mobility as well , other than fel flame spam.
Since everyone here plays 2´s , with a fire mage you can 3x more setups to play than a destro lock , you can play dps / healer , or double dps.
Destro lock you can really only play double dps and you re more of a support type.
Skill wise I wouldnt say because in the end of the day its a computer game its not like we re playing a chess world championship final
But i will tell you can be a highly skilled destro lock and still get run over by a mediocre warrior because thats how it is :D
about destro needing no skill i dont agree much with that , you can go afliction / boomkin and you dont even know how to play right and you stil end up winning :DEdited: February 4, 2016

I want to roll Fire Mage, really. But people always go on about the RNG problem and their heavy dependence on luck, that is, crits... How much of a problem would that really be?

Im a mage too, fire cuz find it most fun. Yes rng can be a problem but its very fun to play.

he put amage together. i'm fairly certain he means arcane mage ;)
as for op.. to determine which is easier.. you look @ their rotations.

These 3 guides should show you the rotations for each of the specs. Arcane I believe is likely to be, universally, the easiest one. As for the highest dps of them all, I could show you graphs and what not but that wouldn't be accurate on warmane. Since I don't PvE, I can't answer that one sadly.
Most of these people are talking about PvP but you never mentioned PvP. If you are interested in PvP, in all the specs you mentioned, Fire would indeed provide the best results. As a lock, I would never leave aff in pvp. In PvP as a mage, I play frost more but fire is awesome as well.

actually we re so used to pvp , since that what most ppl do in this server that we didnt even read right. He said a PvE caster . Destro is totally fine for PvE and very valid .
