As i plan to return back to wow ! Lorderon currently BEST wotlk server in world ! hands down ! I thought i might just come back to wotlk as i enjoyed playing it much back in days :D
It would be great if you guys give me some pointers. As am planing to roll Alliance, Shaman. It would be my first time lvling on 1x so kinda exited. Can you guys if possible help me with some basic x1 lvling guide ? Maybe in which Spec should i lvl my shaman ? Or a way through of maps i should go to get lvl 80 ?
Links would work just fine. Thanks everyone, cant wait to get back :D
Maps. Google for Leveling by zones ( original ) and you should able find from there list of maps with level ranges. My suggestion for 1x realm is when you got next zone, be sure you are like 2-3 levels higher then suggested levels. Both specs DPS specs will work fine but with BIG expection for heal. Never roll heal on lordaeron. They have disabled RDF and it wont be possible to level . Ok it will be possible but painfull. Leveling by itself doesnt realy change in 1x or 5x or 10x. Be sure you complete most quests on zone you are in or you will have to grind later. Exspecialy northend zones. you have to complete like 80% of each zones quests to be able get 80 level without grinding. Have fun leveling on custom realm!
Another thing to use for leveling is EveryQuest, EveryQuest Questgivers + Handy Notes (required). You can also try Quest Helper or any similar addon to help you out with Quests. Personally I only used EQ + EQQG because of Loremaster, but it can be good for leveling also because it shows you what Quests have you done in the zone, how many of them are there and locations of all quest givers.
Not sure about spec, but as far as I know, Mana sucks for levelings, so probably going Enhance would be the easiest. Haven't leveled up a Shaman myself, but my friend did and he was Enhance until 75 when he got Lava Burst.

enh i think will be the best for leveling.its mostly autoattacks early levels but will get way better later.best advise for x1 rare WOTLK is dont rush and think about endgame.just enjoy leveling its kinda fun and this was last expansion that leveling had any gameplay at all.and it will be slow so be prepared :D
unless you have 3+ quests dont go to dungeons they are not worth the time you will waste.best way to level is questing.if you just wanna level up asap use Zygors leveling addon it shows you where yo go and what quest to do.people say this is fastest way to level up however on my opinion better level up normally and enjoy the game.
I'll repeat some of the above, but as for me this is what I generally do while leveling.
- Get addons that show you stuff like quests locations, quest chains, zone level, quest mobs, etc. Addons like Everyquest, Carbonite, and Cartographer can do this.
- Look for zones that have a lot of quests and are not spread out. Azshara is a key example of a zone that one should avoid if you are not trying to get Loremaster, Seeker, or just like being a quest completionist.
- Avoid dungeons unless you have a lot of quests for them. Zul'Farrak and Uldaman are great dungeons with a lot of quests available.
- Avoid Stranglethorn Vale as even though it has a lot of quests, unless you play during the low population times you will encounter so much resistance from the opposing faction that it can make leveling frustrating.
- Be several levels avoid the zone. Example: if you must go to Stranglethorn Vale, do so when you are 35+, not when you just dinged 30.
- Many zones have large level ranges (Stranglethorn Vale and Arathi Highlands for example), it is not uncommon to level a zone and come back to it 2 or 3 levels later.
As for a Shaman, Enhancement is easier to level with, however if you want to heal dungeons and don't want to carry two sets of gear, go Elemental. If you want to level as Elemental (and this goes for all spell casters) make sure you STACK spell power. Spell power is far more important than any other stat pre-60. The less spells you have to cast to kill something, the less time you spend killing and the less mana you use.
