1. Aside from the queue, how has Lordaeron been for most of you?

I already have a level 80 5k Gearscore character on Deathwing, but I wanted to give Lordaeron a go since I had never actually leveled in Wrath 1x all the way through before. I see the playerbase is very strong and I haven't heard anything negative about it yet other than the queues. RDF being intentionally disabled is something people may or may not really like.

As for me, RDF intentionally being disabled might take me some getting used to because the first expansion I had leveled all the way through and did endgame raiding, PVP, and dungeons was Cataclysm. I stopped playing retail on Warlords of Draenor because I couldn't justify paying $15 per month to sit in my Garrison all day.

So far, I'm at level 14. Queues aside, I've found no problems thus far and am hoping not to find any as I progress.

  2. I think it reached a whole new level of retail-like gameplay compared to Frostwolf (which was Molten 3x rates). Content getting released in correct order is very appealing. Imo with the 1x rates people have to dedicate and commit to their decisions/classes which is cool, you really have to choose a class you actually like since rerolling will result in another 8 days or so of your playtime.

I think Lordaeron is still enjoying it's launch glory - when you put players on the same line and make them work and race for gear/achievements/titles/progression, people want to keep playing.

Not to mention 3.3.5 was one of the coolest PVP arena eras.

Still the leveling is a chore (as a WOD veteran I feel depressed at level 20 already...).

  3. I have very limited time, but I decided to enjoy it while slowly leveling, so far so good, stopped @lvl 22 warlock when server was released, but now I started again with a shaman (going to level elemental so I can heal dungeons).

Even with 10k players im impressed at the responsiveness of the server, I really thought it was gonna be a lagfest, but so far I can't complain at all.

But also remind everyone, a lot of the people are still leveling, so they're spread out, once more and more get to 80, things might get laggy... so we have to wait and see.

  4. I wrote about my personal and friends' experiences on Lordaeron in another post, for those interested you can find it here.

  5. I've been leveling my Hunter (currently at lvl 48) and im enjoying it alot. The queues are the only problem for now, i started playing WoW in TBC so no RDF is no problem for me. It feels very authentic and all the progression factor appeals to me, can't wait to do some raids.

  6. I've never played retail, only played Warmane MoP till level 85. I played MMOs such as Cabal, Allods, Runes of Magic and apart from MMORPGs I played a little Marvel Heroes and Path of Exile, which is countable as MMORPG experience and I must say Lordaeron is unique experience for me. Community is great, leveling is absolutely fun (not boring as **** like the others) and even the fact that it's sucking my life, I enjoy!

  7. here is my personal opinion:
I subscribed to WoD this month after a year of absence on retail just to check how it is compared to Lordaeron. I logged in, checked garrison, saw you can have naval missions, went to Ashran, noone was there, tried to ignore the spam of people selling gear runs of raids, selling of monts, achievements etc for gold and did a few HCs, noone said anything in party chat, no guild recruitment, nothing. Its so empy. A year ago I cleared all content except mythic in just 3 months from fresh 90. I leave the conclusions to you guys, this was blizzard at its current state.
Now lets get back to Lordaeron:
Problems: queue times, minor bugged quests, spells (ex. Mind control in arena... NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP), supposed ddos attacks, slow ticket response, etc.
But, all these problems are nothing compared to the apathy and singleplayer feeling of WoD, Lordaeron is heaven! Lordaeron is the fking best place to be if you are a WoW enthusiast. Can it be better, ofcourse! But is it worse than Blizzard's WoD? Holy **** no, its 10x times better, progressive WOTLK content, PVP! 95% of quests working! Holy ****, taking everything in consideration, the bad stuff is non existent.

Im looking forward to playing here for the next 1 year and I hope it will only get better with things like bigger pop cap, less bugged spells and less ddos!

    Lets go boys!

  8. As a new wow player (3 months +/-) all I can say is: the 1x rates and progressive content release was very appealing, I already have a lvl 80 char but I'm creating new toons because I want to experience every class and since the server is rly populated it's a joy lvling new chars, pvping on low lvls and stuff is rly fun...

I hope in the next years we can see new projects like this but which will extend further to newer expansions Vanilla-BC-Wotlk-Cata-Mists-WoD (and mby having the expansion duration a little bit longer, 2-3-5 months each)

Anyway from my point of view I hope they will never add Dungeon Finder / Progressive items (hirelooms or something like that)
I would also like to see more bans for the botters ruining the AH for the endgame materials (mining/skinning/herba)
