WotLK WOTLK: Unable to loot Oily Blackmouth from fishing pools

Why can't I loot oily blackmouth from their fishing pools anymore? I'm guessing this relates to free action potion because I've seen a few butt hurt donormounres in the forums angry that they can't instakill people with it. I hope this isn't molten trying to manually "balance" the game.

I have a hard time believing this is a bug. Really curious to hear why this was done...

EDIT: Keeps telling me "you don't own this item" when trying to loot anything from blackmouth schools

I have the exact same problem. I have successfully looted 7 blackmouths in Ratchet, Barrens, but after that I kept getting the same message repeating :''You don't own that item''. I went to Booty bay, fish was successfully hooked but again I couldn't loot. It's the same even after I logout or exit the game. It's becoming quite annoying since I really need the fish for free action potion. Even if I wouldn't need it for that purpose I don't understand why I keep getting this message for this fish only.

It's not only for fish, It's a very anoying bug that happends when someone loots it befoe you, might been many hours before, and didnt pick it up, probably just took the fish and skipped it, so now, no one can loot it cause it wil say "it does not belong to you"

Only thing that fixes these issues is a server restart. Just keep looking.

Is it possible that someone skipped precious blackmouth so many times in a row? Damn. If that's the case, and I don't think there is no other explanation than that you gave, then I guess we have no other option but to wait for a restart, or, we can just, as you said, keep looking. Nice to hear it does work at random moments at least to some extent though , and also thanks for your reply :)
