It was removed in TBC retail, so it can't be part of Warmane's WoTLK Core. Wouldn't be "Blizz-like".
This, another thing blizzard took from the hardcore players in their never ending quest to make the game easier and more friendly to the casual player with each expansion.
I wasnt even a big pvper, but could instantly respect someone who put in the work for Commander or higher.
The thing with those ranks is that the only thing they reflect is how much you are grinding BG's, doesn't tell anything about how good you are. Glad we got arenas / rbgs now
Back then even grinding them wasnt enough. You had to win and win alot. There were lots of premades and people leaving at starts of matches when they saw what team they were facing.
Probably right if we're talking about the very high ranks, like 12-14 (14 was the highest, right?). I remember hearing people having characters sitting in BGs with shared accounts for like 150 hours a week just to obtain those High Warlord ranks / equivalents.
Back then in Vanilla most of the higher ranked players weren't special in terms of skill either (as you can see from the keyboard turning and clicking abilities in videos from that era) but it would certainly be an interesting idea to have a similar system set in place here. That would make me play more PvP other than arenas as well.
