Which of these 2 classes ?

Hey guys,
So I've been playing wow for quite a few years now, and I kind of wanna try a new experience.
I've been playing Warrior and Bdruid during all these years, now with Lordaeron I wanna try smth else :D.
I'm a hardcore PvPer but I also wanna do the raiding part with guilds, and I can't choose between shadow priest and mage.
Which one of these would you guys suggest ? I know a shadow priest could be a beast at PvP but so does the mage, as for PvE I don't really know anything about any of them.
Could you help me choose :p?

Generally for PvE I'd say Priest. Mages and Warlocks becomes very one sided after a while. Priests are the exact same as these two in terms of PvE, except they offer much more diversity with their offspeccs, so you will probably become less bored with them.

However it sounds like you already made up your mind to just play shadow (are you afraid of healing? I mean why play years as a dps caster only to play another year as a dps caster, really dude?), so I guess in your case it really doesnt matter.

Every class is viable for pvp and pve and its just a matter of preference.
We also cant tell u which class is more fun, thats a absolute subjective opinion.

I suggest to u to go to blackrock our instant 80 realm and check both classes out. Play whatever fits to u. We cant decide for u.

as I said in the previous post, I do not know how any of them fare in PvE, that is mainly the reason of this thread.
I've heard several times (a few years ago in the first Lordaeron server) that mages were bugged and dealt low DPS, I don't know if its still the case but if I remember correctly that was for the arcane or frost spec.

I don't think there are any issues with Mage DPS, though of course there are specs that perform better than others. As he mentioned the instant 80 server you could roll a toon there and test builds and see which is best for you.

Priest because you can offspec heal if needed.
