1. Purchasing Property in WoW

    Hello everyone,

I'm coming back to Warmane after a while , I played on and off and on the official as well , I get bored very quickly regarding everything but this game seems to hook me time after time I read some lore , see some gameplay or watch a trailer about something. So my following question or presumption that they will eventually do this is regarding property purchasing in the World of Warcraft universe. Imagine being able to buy like a small shop in Origmmar or Stormwind and hire a merchant from the local NPC's to sell your stuff at a reasonable price or whatever the price you set. Or being able to buy lands and build your own guild house where guild members can gather , plot stuff and raid other guilds houses. Regarding that the terrain can be limited there should be huge amounts for the purchases of these properties.

How do you guys feel about this and what kind of property would you like to purchase in WoW ?

  2. I work in real estate and I've been imagining this for a long time.

Sadly, this is not going to happen in a "Blizzlike" realm such as Warmane. Your best bet are garrisons but even that offers little freedom.

I really wish this was true about retail wow. I can always log into a WoTLK or even TBC realm and have hours of fun, I log into WoD and I just sit there til I log out and come back here.

As far as your idea goes, i doubt it. WoW is finally winding down and I wouldn't expect to many more expansions I'd almost expect Legion to be the lost one, but have to wait and see for sure. Blizzard has just ruined this game from the inside out.

If Legion doesn't hold a decent sub count i'd expect Blizzard to make Legion the last expansion for sure, but I guess let's wait and see what they say at Blizzcon this year.

I could almost imagine the WoW Dev's getting on stage and everyone boo'ing them and throwing rotten produce at them at this point.

I believe Blizzard stated that they have expansions up til 2020 or something like that.

at best that would mean maybe one maybe 2 expansions to go, but if subs keep dropping like that have in WoD and these super long content draughts aren't making things any better for them, then i wouldn't count on them continuing making new expansions. All that's left at WoW now is a bunch of rabid, raging fanboy's that can't handle crtticism and insult people that don't share their same opinion. Blizzard will never understand how much they've changed their game and how it's just pushed people away.

i truly do hope Legion is the last expansion as Retail WoW disgust me.

Oh and by the way citation needed for that 2020 date.

  6. OP on theory your idea is very good but there are a ton of little details that will need so much work to be thought out and implemented that it will take a whole new expansion on its own to make it happen and i don't think it is that good of an idea to be worth it

  7. It doesn't work within the design of WoW. It would have to be instanced because it wouldn't make sense to have Stormwind expand to 100 miles long to fit player housing in, nor to have huge dedicated player housing zones in the open world. Instanced home points like Garrisons are already pretty awful, as well.

  8. well, it would be possible from several PoV's

    Immersion:
imagine an instance portal in every main district of a town, could just be a side-alley sized portal or even an NPC to talk to, transporting a player 'into the district' with up to 20 player shops as seen all around the town
inns, clothiers, leatherworkers, blacksmiths, scribe's shops with various bonuses to owners(increased proc rates, decreased raw mat cost, free daily/weekly transmute or research) and rare recipe vendors or simply discounted goods for visitors

    Economy:
each visit to the player's shop bringing in some gold, possibly scaling with what the visitors actually do there: craft, buy or sell with a certain % of buy or sell gold going straight into the owner's pocket akin to a tax, while each crafted item brings in a few silver
adding daily rent according to the demand for the district, the more players in the 'queue' for the shops, the higher the rent, pay up or get out... (gold sink for a large amount of produced gold)

    Development:
short of spawning the NPCs or creating portals, creating a small instance with buildings resembling those in their 'home district' is an easy job of mostly copy-pasting existing buildings, the trouble would come with owners probably wishing to customize their Blacksmith's to have easy access to both a trainer, forge and anvil at the same time (talking to you, Dalaran layout), WoW isn't generally made with being dynamic in mind and creating hundreds of phases to 'hide' all the alternative layouts in... is just a lot of work I don't see anyone doing even for a significant fee

Overall assessment: Possible, if extremely unlikely to the point of Blizzard shutting down instead of launching Legion being more likely than this ever happening anywhere
