We haven't seen good story, graphics and gameplay since chess mkay? All these new games and expansions suck so much.
only oldschool gamers will get this one ^_^ <3 xD
Damn! Who has the time to read 2k+ posts???
I wish i had something pointless to share,but i don't :p
Two Ranked games with Hugo and Dj tonight... Won both.
Dj got a Penta on Malphite last game just before we finished, was brilliant
People who complain about games not being hardcore don't know what kind of audience they're dealing with. Blizzard didn't allow Flying in WoD and people complained about it endlessly and when they brought Flying in, they made it that you have to do every single quest in Draenor, find every single treasure, get every single reputation to exalted and other things to get the Flying. Literally meaning that you have to experience 99% of the expansion on foot before you get to fly and guess what happened? "oh my god, they're tending to the casuals again"
Gamers today are spoiled brats that don't know what they want, but they will complain. The gaming industry as a whole is not a business that pays off.
IKR, IDK about anyone else but I loved having to explore and quest for my Flying.. The rep was a bit overkill though. Even then I enjoyed going around on groundmount, but people got fed up of having to summon me to raid/mythic dungeons so I was forced to get flying.
What I get is the people who complain that WOD sucks when they are sat there with nothing but LFR kills or any arena rating.
Need to activate Windows 8.1 Pro again...
Can't find KmPsico or whatever the program is called again... little help...?
It's not even the missing "hardcore" factor that plagues the game those days, is just poor design of the game. People got fed up already farming the same dungeon in heroic on older expansions, as it lacks a sense of progression. So blizzard figured, hey lets add another 15 modes with slight changes because thats suuuuper fun. Vanilla did great when i comes to that, unlocking higher raids by gearing up was a great system. Even wotlk showed some really interesting "heroic mode" concept with the ulduar hard modes, where you can actively influence within the fight if you want to take it into hard mode or not. That was damn good design, but that kind of design takes time and effort, so they rather slightly tweak dungeons with 15 difficulties because tweaking numbers takes less time then creating new assets and designing an entire raid. It's plain and simple effortless in any possible way.
That being said, it's not really surprising me that people complained about it, they did the same when they had to sheep or sap in heroic cata dungeons pre-nerf. Their entire audience those dungeons appealed to simply left the game by now. And don't get me started on the PvP side of things, that has been going down ever since data got released, but at least cata was playable. I disliked it for being inferior gameplay and balancing wise to wotlk, but I did play it on private servers even if it was only a little bit. But I will never see myself playing WOD on any private server ever, it has the least interesting pvp I have ever experienced. WoW could be an incredible game if blizz would start putting some effort into their game again. Making a difficulty upgrade dynamic would be fun as hell, thats why ulduar is one of my favorite dungeons on all time.If they used some old balancing, mixed in some of their new QOL mechanics (like seriously, no one liked traveling to queue up for a certain bg for example) and throw that into an interesting setting, I would buy it and a heck of a lot of others would too.
But hey, blizz loves to make everyone feel somewhat important, no matter how poorly they play the game. I didn't think LoL could ever become more dumbed down, till they released heroes of the storm. I used to love blizzard so much, but the company just went extremely down hill. Hearthstone is the last game that still catches my attention, probably because I always had a thing for TCG's, especially the pokemon one.
PvP was **** after WotLK. I LOVED world PvP. I always had a lot more fun getting three raids and just going to a city and taking it over for a few hours.
Cata pvp was bad, but at least playable. Have you tried WoD PvP? That ****s painful to play, not even kidding.
Cata was fun because Rogues were OP for once.
You specifically said "Time Travel", and separated it from "dimension hopping". As you indeed should have, because they are not necessarily the same. Cataclysm's time traveling in Caverns of Time (which you claim to dislike) worked exactly the same as the Caverns of Time traveling in both TBC and WotLK.
So unless you're being intentionally misleading, I think you're mistaken on how you're judging the issue and expansions.
In addition to what Warnly said, we did things like that ourselves in the game as well. For example, Mount Hyjal, we go back in time to save our younger selves (and perhaps some ancestors) from doom. The Infinite Dragonflight doesn't even appear there, so there wasn't even a reason to go back to it with the exception of the fact that we were supposed to -- a self-perpetuating timeline and existence.
I fail to see what was ironic about what I said.
I don't know if you played late MoP, but WoD is an improvement over that. Albeit however small.
Wow has become an extremely dumbed-down game, and flying has nothing to do with it. Also, the game makes the audience, not the other way around.
Creamy 'back in my day' meme, though. Love it.
