1. No, no, no. Of course we all used Rupture before that because ArP didn't exist back then. I never said otherwise, Fluffy. I just always thought that at ArP cap it only makes sense to drop Rupture and use Eviscerate - the EJ guides say it, Aldriana's sheet says it, Aldriana also says it.

  2. What`s the deal with Rupture, its not supposed to scale with ArP, right?

  3. Bleeds go with AP.

And rupture was used from vanilla for the same reason you used garotte to open and not ambush: threat.

Regardless, things change at bis levels. You can rupt and stack hit to the ceiling and someone can still match numbers or best them all day long spamming evi and that was before they fixed the 4pc to proc off SnD. Also there's no need for spamming in expertise because of how it is on this server, t10 legs or gsb chest + talent are enough to see you through.

And yes, there's clearly something wrong with evi's damage which is why this is even a conversation. You don't even need to glyph evi to top meters now, if evi was fixed and you glyphed it's gg for anyone but fwarr with SM/zelg.

  4. Dongwise, are you saying that Evi does more damage than it should? The non-crit Evis I see are quite pathetic imo.

Selaya, it's an ongoing discussion after several people who I know and trust told me that Rupture > Evi even at ArP cap. They even posted screens with average numbers to prove it. Check the last 1-2 pages and you'll see. All the official information I have states that at ArP cap it's a clean Evi-only cycle. The Halion kill from Paragon however shows the contrary. Average Rupture vs Eviscerate numbers on Warmane show that, too.

  5. I understand that and the discussion, I was merely trying to understand why Evis would outscale Rupture eventually, or at the very least, why people would claim it will do. The explanation I can come up without further information rn is that Rupture isn`t supposed to scale with ArP which would clearly benefit Evis over Rupture eventually. Actually, I think I`ve read up something about bleeds not scaling with armor somewhere, but that was years ago and my memory might be playing tricks on me.

  6. Also there's no need for spamming in expertise because of how it is on this server, t10 legs or gsb chest + talent are enough to see you through.
I had to gem 26 exp on my rogue due to being dodged constantly. What are you talking about?

  7. That`s the new core. And yes, as of that patch expertise caps at 26.

  8. That`s the new core. And yes, as of that patch expertise caps at 26.
That's not "the new core". That's how it should be since the release of this patch just like Retail. Just throwing those two cents.

  9. Quite obviously. However, Expertise used to work like that before - capping at 22.

  10. It still works like that. 22 is enough for me to see zero dodges.

And yes, bleeds ignore armor and do not scale from ArP in any way. The fact of the matter, however, is that a Rupture's average damage on Warmane tends to be slightly higher than an Eviscerate, mainly due to Rupture's ticks critting. Say, you got 50% crit and this means that half of your Rupture ticks from a single Rupture will crit, one way or another, while an Eviscerate might or might not crit. The next Eviscerate, again, might or might not crit... and so on and so forth until you end up realizing that relying on Eviscerate critting in order for it to be competitive with Rupture is silly - therefore low Rupture > Evi only.

At least that is what I reached after thinking carefully about the replies of the guys above me and testing stuff myself. Even at 100% ArP, low Rupture is, strangely enough, still a slight gain over Evi only.

  11. That`s weird because on my Paladin i wasn`t able to eliminate dodges with just 22 Expertise anymore

  12. has anyone tried going for serrated blades with the t7 for rupture? might be nice with the t8 too so. i dont think arp is worth much before ulduar gear anyway, mjolnir's etc.

  13. What? No. Dude, no. You're losing Lethality and Malice for pretty much only Serrated Blades. Nothing in the Sub tree favours Combat. I don't even need to try it - simple logic tells me it would be far worse.

Selaya, I dunno, man. I had my rogue attack the dummy for several minutes @ 22 exp - not a single dodge. I'll try again now. I'm testing on the target dummy in Thunder Bluff, by the way, since it's the only isolated target dummy for Horde (so I can use Killing Spree).

  14. ArP is still very well worth it, just not to the extent where you`d be gemming it over AP, Agi or anything else primary

As for the dummies, they do not dodge at all rn. Not even the Acherus one does. I tried attacking with 12 Expertise for 15 mins or so and didn`t see a single dodge.

  15. Yeah, just checked my WoW from my last post. 0 dodges. I guess I'll just have to rely on boss data then, like Festergut or Toravon.
