I too am an original member of the Nost community who has been shifting around looking for a new home as well. Though I started on warmane before Nost went down, it was a little unpleasant coming home from the weekend to a 2hr Que. Since then I've been reading on the forums about the refugees and server cap. I immediately recognized that one of our problems with our community is our expectations. We EXPECT every branch of the Private Server community to do the same work that Nost did. We are looking for that beautifully scripted server with solid hosting. But we are also being UNFAIR. It is UNFAIR of us to push all of ourselves to 1 server. Its even MORE unfair to push ourselves on to one server and then demand that WE WANT MORE. We want higher server caps, higher stability, better scripting. The list goes on about how unfair we are treating these communities. As soon as I logged on I immediately noticed that we did the "Nost Thing" and pushed it to one server. GUYS, break up a little bit. Help spread out. It is ridiculous that WE ARE CREATING PROBLEMS for these dev teams because we are too stubborn to spread out.
I am no community leader but a fan of the private server community but I urge you to distribute yourselves to give the dev's some space to work with and not be so stubborn to say, "Nost did it!". It's the same reason PlayTBC went down immediately.
Does anyone share the same belief? Is there MORE we can do to be FAIR to these developers and give these servers a fair shot at an impressive community? Or do my thoughts go in vein that the community that I love is going to be relentless towards dev team after dev team to force them to spend more money because they are not who Nost were.
We, the staff here, and I'm sure some of your fellow community members, appreciate your concern. We're doing our best to make the experience acceptable for everyone. The suddenness of the change is making it difficult a bit, but I'm sure we'll manage in due time.
Please Mercy, there is no reason to apologize. This has NOTHING to do with the fantastic work you guys have been doing. It's the community who should be apologizing. We are treating you guys unfairly with the demand that you do MORE than what you are/have doing/done. I want you guys to keep at it. But I really want my community to be FAIR to you guys and disperse and stop holding every server to a standard that just because one dev team did something, that every team should be held at the same expectation when in reality, these problems can be avoided by just breaking up a little bit and spreading out. Even having a spread of 7k on each server is FAIR and manageable. But to cram 15k on one server and DEMAND that you guys do more? NO, that's not right and it makes me feel bad that I am a part of this community. Nothing but love on this end.
I agree with you that lots of people are entitled and expecting too much, but how is it unfair that people are wanting a little more especially since people pay Warmane for services. Its not required but the staff does get paid when people buy gear and donate. In that regard they should have more resources than Nost and any other pserver has and thats why people want a little more, especially if they pay/donate. Just my two cents

We're already hard at work to address the issues at hand. We don't mind that people expect a lot from us, so long as they have patience to allow us to work. Most of all, we want our community to be happy with the service we provide. So we're taking steps towards providing exactly that.
Expecting too much? let's hope ulduar release delivers because the ptr is ****ing scary
You should expect bugs on launch. Though we've been getting quite a bit of input from players on Ragnaros & Deathwing. We already have quite a few fixes prepared for the launch.

Great to hear, there is nothing wrong with high expectations, especially since you guys seem Professional and know what you are doing compared to people that do this for free/hobby. I agree that patience is a virtue and people should not expect instant gratification. As long as you guys deliver on your promise of constantly improving and doing the best you can, especially in terms of scripting, performance and bug fixes (which I have been impressed with so far) since there is always room for improvement. Keep it up and thanks for all that you guys do to provide this awesome expansion.
I think it is awesome that there are more people joining, but I think people should be more acceptable that there will be a lot more to do for the warmane staff then.
I have played here for some time now, and I think it is funny that when there is no queue - people start being afraid that people leave. When people join the server tho, people complain that the queues are too long. Even when the cap is being increased. I guess there will always be someone that does not get as they always want.
Keep up your good work warmane and take your time, good job so far! best I have played ever. :)
In my humble opinion, raising the player cap is not the viable long-term solution for Lordaeron. Soon it will be too crowded. There is a reason why bl!zz also had a player cap for every realm. So i think releasing a 2nd identical realm would mitigate those 2-3 hours queues. Also you could do some free character transfer from one realm to another, maybe low level players who are still leveling and stuff like this. And there you go, you'll have 2 realms with balanced population, same progression, so it won't be a pain for developers to do maintenance.
