Have multiple characters that can craft items to disenchant or sell is the best way. If you can't be asked to do that, get mining/herbalism.

Another method that doesn't require any professions is farming mobs with either fast respawn rates or in large groups that have a high chance of dropping greens and greys.

Gold isn't hard to come by, don't get concerned if you don't have 20k or 100k, after a point you can't do much with it other than intentionally screw up auction house prices.

For profession, here's some info from my observation ;

Enchant materials are sold quite highly. (Magic essence (level 1-10) can be sold for 1G and beyond)

Low level accessories from Jewelcrafting sold quite well for me

Mithril/Thorium are on high demand, but also quite rare. Don't even think about auctioning Gold or Truesilver.

As high level miner, some people might buy your daily cooldown of Smelt Titansteel.

For mob farming, I recommend daily, but here are the mobs that drops green and gray gears occasionally:

-Most humanoid/demon mobs, recommending Bonechewer/Shattered Hand Orcs from Hellfire Peninsula
-All dungeon mobs in Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord. Recommending the non-elite skeletons of Utgarde Pinnacle
