Enemy Nameplates being too low and covering Enemy

    Hello.

I've been having the problem ever since I downloaded the WOTLK Client where the Enemy Nameplates are covering the Enemy too much.

Examples can be found in these screenshots:

    Not Enabled - https://gyazo.com/184010c2dcf6d7f51e27acd7c70b6754
    Enabled - https://gyazo.com/e42b93645d55e0d52ea2a1d99add047e

I've tried to fix it by doing the following:

    Turn off all addons.
No addons, and Interface/Video settings to default.
Removed all folders pertaining to settings/config (only Data and .dll files left in WoW folder).

Currently going to try (EDIT: tried):

Downloading client again, and start up fresh. Did not work.

This bug persists through both clients of WOTLK. Old and new models.

    Any suggestions? Thanks.

Bump. I've found noone else with such an issue.

Alright. Tried changing between many resolutions, wide and not, but still the same issue (restarted client after each time).

It's as if the anchor of the Enemy Nameplate is lower on the mob. Is there any way to force change that?

Even addons for name plates did not fix this. Still covers the enemy.

Another screenshot, this time from the side. Can clearly see it's much lower than it should be: https://gyazo.com/22a85f341eb2a854d227767fba5d85c6

Do you have another computer in your house you can test this on? That way you can rule out the server.
Did your game ever work before or has it never worked?
What graphics card do you have?
Have you checked to see if your graphics card drivers are up to date?

I have a laptop I could attempt this on, but it will take some time to get it running there. Can get the DL started.
Other friends playing same clients and server do not have this issue. So it should not be a server side problem based off of that.

Did your game ever work before or has it never worked?
It has never worked with the WOTLK client (Old and New) from Warmane DL page. Nor any other WOTLK client for that matter (not tried any other).
I've run Vanilla and TBC clients in the past with the exact same computer and computer state (drivers and so on), as it was not many months ago I tried some random servers floating around. Never had this issue on any of those.

What graphics card do you have?
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980

Have you checked to see if your graphics card drivers are up to date?
I've not updated these drivers in a little while. But as stated above, I've had no issues with current drivers on other WoW clients.

I'll still attempt to update drivers (will probably require computer restart, so doing when not Lordaeron queue), and have a go on the laptop. Will update the thread when I do.

Great :D you do have one of the best graphics cards around.

    Let us know your progress.

    Good Luck

To further troubleshoot the issue, Friendly Nameplates are just fine: https://gyazo.com/3c241745ccf5d9ed9cc5d2eb270e924a

Is this the same computer that has the issues?
Have you updated your graphics card drivers yet on the computer that is having the issue?

Did you test this on your other computer yet?

You can scale WorldFrame to change position of nameplates.

    /run WorldFrame:SetScale(2)

    /run WorldFrame:SetScale(0.8)

and so on. it moves nameplates little bit to side of characters but at least gets them out of way, not sure if this is what you want.

Default nameplates are very low in WOTLK by default, you probably need addon to shift them upwards.

    Same computer, yes.

I have tried it, and no change at all.

Did you test this on your other computer yet?
I just tried on the other computer, altering nothing upon login. Exact same issue there, no different. Client was freshly downloaded from this site.

I will try those commands soon, but the main issue is height, not horizontal positioning.

Alright, I've done the command, /run WorldFrame:SetScale(1.09), and it went from this:

It is about the right height above the mob now, but kinda off to the side as you stated. This is of course gonna be a bit annoying, but I'll live with it for now. Thanks for the advice.

Any further help to actually get them centered would be very much appreciated, as "crooked" nameplates are an eyesore, and would very much like to have it properly adjusted.

Try changing your UI Scale on video settings. Enable UI Scale on Video settings and try reducing it (it affects your whole interface so make sure you get a proper resolution size too).

This is a really odd situation.

Also try enabling/disabling "Allow nameplates to overlap eachother" option. (if it's enabled see what happens with it disabled and vice-versa)

Try deleting cache and logs folders too.

    Hey, thanks for the suggestions.

However, changing UI Scale and/or resolution did nothing to change the nameplates' position. Resolution changed the dimensions a slight bit depending of course, but position was unchanged.
When changing just UI scale, nameplates were not affected.

Overlapping also does not alleviate this issue.

Deleted Logs and Cache inbetween. No change.
