er wut?o.O Error 404 beastcleave not found?
Ya, in Deadly season.
Wrathful season is MM Hunt/Ret galore.
Not to mention enhance is equally (if not even worse) than BM hunters in Wrathful, which makes Beastcleave an excellent contender for one of the worst comps to be played in this season.
The best 3s comps for Hunters are:
African Turtle Cleave
Jungle Cleave OR Ret/Hunt
KFC OR PhD
For 2s, its just Ret/Hunt. You can run a disc/hunt to some success, but Ret/Hunt is just glorious in all ways during Wrathful.
I read enhance was pretty bad but heard nothing really negative about BM. Can you tell me how and/or why BM is subpar on WotLK?
It honestly can't be worse than MoP
I played a BM hunter back on wrath retail, it was my first class and it was the love of my existence back then... BM sucked dick really. MM had the better damage, the more reliable sustain damage and silencing shot.
But hey I used to play with an UHDK + Rdruid, was pretty fun even as BM.
BM in MOP wasnt all that bad, sure it wasnt some godteir class but still decent if you played with a warrior who could carry fairly well.
As i see youre the biggest Pro in class knowledge on these forums so far.
Your retail achievements date http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/characte...ement#92:a2716 as example take a look at dual talent spec achiv date - 2013.07.19
Heres the expansions release dates
WotLK World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King — second expansion, released 13 November 2008
Cataclysm World of Warcraft: Cataclysm — third expansion, released 7 December 2010
MoP World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria — fourth expansion, released 25 September 2012
1st expansion you was playing @ in retail was MoP.
Stop bragging about your "experience" in retail since TBC.
i mained dk back in tbc, fun times. problim?![]()
Yes because my MOP account, my old account I gave to my ex to play on (diablo 3 while I was here on warname) when we were together and played retail together since his was banned on his bnet I made a new account and let him keep that one for himself since it had D3 and SC2 on so we could RAF. Both accounts are in my name, my original account is still kicking around but he changed the password so I cant log in to find out. But nice try by finding my current account.
Also I never said **** about TBC. I was talking about wrath which was the topic of conversation between Notorious and Danii. But I guess reading is difficult for both of you, but then again Chaos proved that months ago.
Edited: May 10, 2016
If that is true then it's not really a problem to reset a password, isn't that so?
Meh, I might not be with the guy anymore but I'm not going to take back my old account cos he still plays D3 a lot. I'm not that vindictive.
sorry, wut?
I'm not sure what you mean by a down ranking team. Current r4 on Blackrock is Homerjay (previous Warmane tournament winner) playing Ret/Hunt. It's a stupidly strong composition, and it's very aids, but I'm not sure what you mean by down ranking...
Big wall of text. Read at your own risk!
Would love to give you an idea of why I (like many others) believe BM is very poorly made in WotLK.
The first issue with BM is that it is pet dependant in an expansion that is highly dominated by pve gear. If you think Cata is bad in terms of one-shotting, Wotlk is going to blow your mind. Since your pet has a very small health pool, you will see your pet being one shotted in an instant. A crusader strike/aa with a chimera shot/aa will delete your pet instantaneously.
Let's assume you managed to cower the big hits. Well, that is going to get your pet 6 seconds, before the next barrage of big hits happen and it gets deleted then.
Moving on, pathfinding works correctly on Icecrown (I'll just use this name now). Imagine ruins of lordaeron. Imagine the tomb in the middle. You get the idea.
Moving on, BM will be forced to choose between a Cunning type pet or a Ferocity type pet. Now, since BM is a burst spec, you naturally want to use a Ferocity pet. As a result you instantly lose the single most important Hunter ability: Roar of Sacrifice. Furthermore, using Ferocity means you are limited to one stun.
You will likely want to take scatter shot (and entrapment) from the survival tree. But this means you must give up Aimed Shot.
Finally, Chimera shot functions quite differently in Wotlk than in Cata. Chimera Shot brings quite a bit of utility. It has a disarm (disarms can't be trinketted), and mana restoration.
The big one of course, and Marksmanship's best spell, is Readiness. When you play Wotlk, you will realize how hard Chimera shot hits with Serpent sting up. You will see how hard Aimed shot hits with armor penetration (more on this in a second), as well as how hard Silencing shot hits (it's off the gcd, which makes this free damage).
Now imagine eating all of those twice. You can in fact get deleted by a hunter willing to use Readiness offensively (I do this regularly in BGs cuz topkek why not). The wonders of two 10k Chimera shot crits, followed by 2 Serpent Sting procs is... disgusting at times.
Readiness also gives the hunter a second trap, second entanglements, second deterrence, disengage, etc. Second of everything.
Finally Armor Penetration, the holy grail of stats in Wotlk. This is the only stat that has negative diminishing returns (increasing returns I guess?). What this means is, the more armor penetration you get, the better it becomes. This makes armor penetration the most powerful stat for hunters in PvE. It's still quite useful to have a good chuck on armor pen in PvP, but not to the point of gemming it over agi (general consensus, I didn't theory craft so can't be 100% sure).
Unfortunately for BM, pets do not inherit any armor penetration from the Hunter. This means, the most important stat (which is almost on all gear) loses a large portion of its ability for BM.
All in all, BM was in a bad place in Wotlk. It was actually better in MoP than it was in Wotlk. It's a great spec to use while levelling, and while low geared. However as soon as a hunter gets a good weapon and some decent gear, MM scales significantly harder. I do think you can have fun with it in BGs, but you won't be topping scoreboards, that's for sure.
Best of luck there though mate, in my opinion Wotlk is the best expansion WoW ever had, and despite its low quality of life (compared to both Cata and MoP), I enjoy PvP on it quite a lot more!
Hope I helped!
Fire mages are pretty weak, in fact I've found arcane mages to be stronger (in BGs, I haven't really met either in arenas). Naturally frost mages are the strongest in arenas, but I think arcane is just as good as frost in BGs.
Holy pallies are excellent and among the top healers overall. Play with a warrior for ez rating.
